Who are we looking for?   

At GHD we are looking for a new Consulting Intern to join our Energy team at our Newcastle Upon Tyne office. A professional internship-level role. Supports the delivery of consulting & strategy work for internal and external clients, contributing to project outcomes by following established standards and processes.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: 

  • Consulting Project Content Development: Write and edit material for various client propositions, tailoring the tone and content to match the needs and expectations of each client and assignment where required.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Produce accurate reports for others by collecting data from a variety of standard sources and inputting it into standard formats.
  • Document Management: Create a local document management system for an office or department.
  • Improvement/Innovation: Implement improvements and provide feedback on them. Use change management systems and protocols to provide routine support services.
  • Operational Compliance: Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards. Obtain authorization from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions from mandatory procedure.
  • Operations Management: Provide operational support services and sometimes act as first-line supervisor of a transactional operations area. Involves using existing systems and protocols.
  • Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
  • Project Management: Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Support stakeholder engagement by arranging actions, meetings, and events.
  • Work Scheduling and Allocation: Design own monthly schedule and, if necessary, assign work to others in order to speed up office workflow and ensure high-priority tasks get done.

 

What you will bring to the Team

Education

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field

 

Experience

  • General Experience: 0-2 years of experience in related field.
