The Certification Lead plays a key role in collaborating with notified bodies, engineering and marketing departments in order to issue certificates for finished products and components and maintain their validity. He acts as an expert within the Appleton Group regarding ATEX & IECEx standards.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Review Lead & Coordinate Approvals Assignments: Take responsibility and accountability for planning, executing, and communicating all tasks related to obtaining and maintaining certificates. Ensure that approvals goals and deadlines are met by effectively prioritizing and managing assignments throughout the process.
- Participate in New Product Development (NPD) processes and meetings serve as the main point of contact with notified bodies, third-party agencies, and other partners to schedule, plan, acquire and implement new or updated product approvals.
- Analyze and apply regulations: Interpret complex regulatory requirements and simplify them, ensuring they are easily understood and effectively applied to our products.
- Support other subsidiaries of the Emerson group by providing advice and expertise on ATEX and IECEx
- Carry out ATEX audits for our authorized assembly subcontractors (in English and French): plan, organize, carry out and write the audit report
- Perform internal audits at the request of the Quality Manager
- Define certification programs (testing programs, internally and externally) in partnership with notified bodies
- Negotiate costs and timelines of services with Notified Bodies, define the certification budget
- Validate the technical content of the Notified Bodies' offer and place orders after approval by the hierarchy according to the defined processes
- Build certification files with the support of the Design Office
- Validate the conformity of the ATEX and IECEx certificates issued by the organization, in relation to the certification files
- Manage the English (UKCA) and Brazilian (INMETRO) certification: Obtain the offer, prepare and submit the file. After validation by his hierarchy, place the orders
Laboratory Management
- Help to maintain the qualification of the laboratory (obtaining our "Test Result Acceptance" certificate) by participating in audits of notified bodies
- Verify and validate the test programs transmitted by the Laboratory Responsible

For This Role, You Will Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering, Mechanical engineering or similar
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical or industrial engineering, preferably in the field of oil and gas within the certification department or professional experience with notified bodies
- Good knowledge of Emerson products and services and/or the competition
- Experience and expertise in obtaining approvals across areas such as Explosion Protection (ATEX, IECEx)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a global, multicultural team;
- Effective written and oral communication, able to build relationships with employees and customers at all levels
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently and prioritize effectively;
- Fluent English language skills—spoken and written;
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
- Knowledge of European and international electrical standards (e.g., EN, IEC);
- Strong emphasis on attention to detail, a problem-solving approach, and a willingness to continuously learn;
- Familiarity with Project management skills
- Knowledge of negotiation techniques
