Solutions Engineer (SQL Developer)

Location: Hybrid | In-Office Options


About the role:  
We are seeking a Solutions Engineer with a strong data-centric background and heavy SQL scripting experience to support ongoing development needs. Join a team where you'll build and optimize high-impact SQL Server database solutions that power critical customer applications. You'll collaborate with experienced technical experts to solve complex challenges, develop efficient database code, and work closely with developers and business stakeholders to turn business needs into scalable, reliable solutions- all while gaining hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, andmaintainSQL Server databases, stored procedures, functions, and triggersforcustomers
  • Assistwith configuringSQLinstallations andupgrades, anddocumenting issues, tests, and repairs.
  • Collaborate with senior technical staff on resolution of complexSQLproblems
  • Participate in code reviews and enforce best practices for database development
  • Collaborate with developers and business stakeholders to translate requirements intoSQL scripts
  • Assistwith technical projects from concept through resolution
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database related issues in production andnon productionenvironments

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
  • Stronghands onexperience with Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL, stored procedures, indexing, query optimization)
  • Strongproblem solvingskills and ability to troubleshoot performance issues independently
  • Strongtrack recordof communicating requirements, progress, and schedules clearly to stakeholders
  • Comfortable working independently whilemaintainingtransparency with clients or teamleads
  • Strong communicator, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders 
  • Detail oriented with a focus on data accuracy and integrity 
  • Collaborative team player who can also work independently 

Proactive in identifying and resolving issues before they escalate

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with database design principles including normalization and schema 
  • Familiarity with database security, backup, and disaster recovery best practices
  • JIRA and/or DevOps experience
  • Microsoft certification (e.g., Azure Database Administrator Associate, MCSA: SQL Server) 
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting for database automation 
  • Exposure to Power BI or other data visualization tools 
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) for database change management
