Our platform spans multiple on-premises datacenters plus public cloud, and it carries index calculation and market data workloads where correctness and latency are not negotiable. We are looking for a Team Head to lead the group that owns our Platform Infrastructure end to end, from the network fabric and storage layer up to the control plane and the developer-facing platform our product teams build on.This is a leadership role with deep technical grounding. You will not be writing production code every day, but you will be the person the team trusts to have an opinion on a Ceph placement group, a BGP convergence window, or a Kubernetes admission policy.Your TasksThe team, Three squads (Application Platform, Core Infrastructure, Control Plane). You set the direction, run the hiring, grow engineers, and are accountable for the team's delivery and health.The platform roadmap, Translate business- and engineering strategy into a multi-quarter infrastructure plan, and defend the trade-offs to leadership and to the team.Reliability, Own SLOs, incident response, on-call sustainability, and the blameless post-incident process. Reduce toil structurally, not heroically.Datacenter strategy, Drive consolidation of our on-prem footprint, the buildout of new sites, and the boundary between what we run ourselves and what we buy.Cost and capacity, Own the infrastructure budget, capacity planning, and hardware lifecycle.Cross-team interface, Be the partner for product, engineering, security, and IT. Make the platform something teams choose to use, not something they route around.A security-focused mindset and a high sense of taking ownership and responsibility.Excitement to thrive in an energetic, fast paced and dynamic environment.Tech stack: Kubernetes, distributed storage (Ceph or equivalent), Linux systems, networking (BGP/EVPN, firewalls, L4/L7 load balancing), messaging (Kafka, RabbitMQ), relational databases (MariaDB/Postgres), GitOps (ArgoCD), GCP.Your Profile8+ years in infrastructure, SRE, or platform engineering, including significant experience running production on-premises (not cloud-only).Demonstrated leadership: line management of engineers, or tech-lead-plus scope with real accountability for a team's output.
