Trading at J.P. Morgan provides unique insight into global markets, as we offer liquidity to clients in all major asset classes and pride ourselves on fast execution, market share, and advanced e-trading platforms; a trader’s role involves responding to and encouraging client enquiries, managing the resulting risk, and reacting to market-moving events, which makes trading detail-focused, intellectually stimulating, and dependent on logical, quick decision-making.
As a Summer Analyst in the Trading team, you will have the opportunity to contribute valuable work from the start. You will learn from expert instructors and J.P. Morgan professionals about our history, the scale and scope of our organization today, and our ambitious plans for tomorrow. We will teach you technical and practical skills to help you hit the ground running.
This seven- week program in June / July is an opportunity to take your career to the next level through hands-on experience, relevant skills training and valuable professional networking. Based on your individual achievements, those who successfully complete the program may receive offers of full-time employment.
Job Responsibilities
- Support senior colleagues with research, analysis, and preparatory work.
- Monitor financial markets and stay updated on market trends.
- Develop trade ideas and contribute to investment strategies.
- Learn about solutions and products offered to clients for managing market conditions
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Strong interest in global financial markets
- Excellent analytical, quantitative (e.g., algebra, statistics, probability) and interpretative skills
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative work environment
- Being adaptable, flexible and resilient
- Fluency in both Japanese and English
- Knowing your way around Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Expected graduation date of September 2027 through July 2028, studying outside of Japan in Bachelor program or higher
- If you are pursuing a Master’s Degree, it must be attained within 2 academic years of your receipt of a Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Coursework in finance or economics
- Confidence and initiative to take on responsibility and manage your own projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
