About the Role
This is a rare opportunity to join a pre-seed AI-powered construction tech startup in Berlin as one of the founding engineers. You'll work on a browser-based platform that uses AI to automate complex building design workflows — including technical building equipment (TGA) planning and electrical schematic generation — reducing planning timelines from weeks to hours.
As an early Software Engineer, you'll have real influence over architecture, tooling, and infrastructure decisions. You'll help shape the core backend and plugin architecture, deliver prototypes, and drive the MVP to production-readiness across multiple ecosystems.
What You'll Do
Contribute to the design and delivery of prototypes for AI-powered building design features.
Drive the MVP to production-readiness across multiple software ecosystems (including integrations with tools such as Revit).
Process and handle large quantities of CAD data at scale.
Help define backend and plugin architecture, as well as infrastructure setup.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-structured code with strong CS fundamentals.
Deliver solutions that span multiple platforms and ecosystems.
What We're Looking For
Required:
Proficiency in C# or Python for backend software development.
Strongly preferred:
Experience with CAD data processing and implementing data structures and algorithms for scalable software.
Proven ability to design, build, and ship production-ready MVPs.
Hands-on experience contributing to infrastructure setup.
Ability and enthusiasm to influence architecture and tooling decisions, including backend and plugin architecture.
Comfort working across multiple ecosystems and with large, complex datasets.
Strong computer science fundamentals.
Nice to have:
Background in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) software space.
Experience with BIM tools or platforms such as Revit.
Location
Berlin, Germany — hybrid working model (approximately 3 days per week in office).
