About the Role
The Head of FP&A is responsible for leading the Financial Planning & Analysis function for Australia and New Zealand. The role provides strategic financial leadership, planning oversight, and decision support to senior management to enable informed business decisions, effective performance management, and delivery of business objectives.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes for Australia and New Zealand.
- Provide timely, accurate, and insightful financial analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Partner with business leaders across Underwriting, Claims, Operations, Distribution, and other functions to understand performance drivers and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Deliver monthly management reporting, variance analysis, and commentary for senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain financial models, dashboards, and planning tools to support business performance monitoring and analysis.
- Prepare executive-level and board-level financial materials, presentations, and business reviews as required.
- Drive consistency in financial planning processes, assumptions, and reporting standards across Australia and New Zealand.
- Lead scenario analysis, sensitivity modelling, and business case evaluation to support commercial decisions.
- Collaborate with Finance, Actuarial, and other control functions to ensure alignment on financial outlooks and business priorities.
- Support strategic initiatives, transformation projects, and ad hoc analysis as required.
- Lead, coach, and develop FP&A team members to build capability and strengthen finance business partnering.
What you’ll bring to the role
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification preferred, such as CA, CPA, or equivalent.
- 10+ years’ experience in FP&A, commercial finance, or financial management, within insurance (essential).
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and performance analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively.
- Advanced financial modelling and analytical capability.
- Strong business partnering skills with a commercial and strategic mindset.
- Experience leading teams and developing talent.
- High attention to detail with the ability to balance strategic thinking and operational delivery.
- Proficiency in financial systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft applications.
