The Position

Roche's Sites Network connects today 12 large, multi-functional sites across Switzerland, Germany, the U.S. and India, touching more than half of Roche's employees. With more than 3,500 highly skilled colleagues, our function offers over 200 capabilities and even more services shaping Roche's ecosystem of infrastructure & integrated services to enable best work outcomes.

In this role, you will be part of a team of Strategy Leads and report to the Head of Sites Network Strategy. You will own and drive two connected structural foundations of the network—the Operating Model and the Capability Framework—on behalf of the Sites Enablement Team (SET). This position offers high impact, broad and senior exposure across the Sites Network and beyond, providing an exciting chance to build a new strategic capability from the ground up to keep the network fit for Roche's 2030 ambition.

The Opportunity

  • Shape the Operating Model: Design, embed, and continuously refine how the Sites Network operates and executes as one connected system—keeping it value-maximizing, forward-looking, and pace-matched to growth or change (e.g., via maturity assessments or benchmarking)

  • Run the Integration Management Office: Operationalize the operating model by maintaining one master plan, coordinating different workstreams, keeping dependencies and risks in one place, utilizing i.e. weekly unblocking and monthly SteerCos to keep delivery on track and transparent.

  • Drive the Capability Framework: Own the framework, its lifecycle and evolution to ensure we have the right capabilities in the right place, today and for 2030—using i.e. heat-maps to give a clear, shared view of strengths and gaps across the function.

  • Bridge Capabilities and Partner: Proactively identify and close capability gaps in partnership with Councils, sites, and global functions so the network is never caught short of the capabilities it needs to deliver.

  • Lead Cross-Site Initiatives: Identify, lead, or shape cross-site initiatives that turn strategic decisions into operating-model or capability change; drive adoption through a strong network across the business, sites, and global functions.

  • Guide Senior Decision-Making: Architect the path from analysis to decision, translating complexity into concise, fact-based recommendations for senior decision-makers.

  • Build Strategic Capability: Establish this new strategic capability from the ground up, defining the standards, tools, and health metrics that track operating-model and capability maturity over time.

Who You Are

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or above; MBA or other relevant Graduate or Postgraduate Degree preferred.

  • Professional Experience: 10+ years of experience with increasing responsibility and a proven track record in business operations, preferably Sites Management as well as operating-model design and large-scale transformation — either in a complex multi-site industrial or life-sciences environment or a top-tier strategy consultancy.

  • Core Skills: Strong systems thinking and analytical skills with proven problem solving, stakeholder management, influencing skills, and high integrity.

  • Adaptability & Communication: Comfortable dealing with ambiguity, equally adept at writing the design and walking the shop floor, and exceptional at concise, storyline-led communication in both English and German with senior gravitas.

  • Location: Willing and able to work out of the primary location for this position in Basel, Switzerland.
