Sr. Director of Corporate Development

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Provides strategic direction, financial analysis, and deal process oversight for joint venture negotiations within the assigned business units of FMCNA. Responsible for managing a team dedicated to the deal process and will report directly to the FMCNA Vice President of Corporate Development.. Must have expertise in the full deal cycle including but not limited to complex financial modeling, GAAP/IFRS accounting, due diligence management, and deal document review.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides strategic leadership of short- and long-term goals through the use of thoughtful techniques in the communication of the company's mission and core values as a means to implement positive change and/or create organizational structure within the assigned business unit(s).
  • Primary financial support for FMCNA Chief Development Officer for Mergers and Acquisitions projects including large acquisitions of privately or publicly held companies.
  • Directs and controls the creation of complex valuation modeling and other financial analysis for various size deals across identified business units.
  • Supports the due diligence process including financial due diligence and other diligence as assigned.
  • Directs and controls the creation of various board level packages required for deal approval process and communicates these documents to senior level executives.
  • Acts as a finance/accounting subject matter expert (SME) within Corporate Development by maintaining current knowledge of accounting and/or regulatory updates as they affect the assigned business unit(s).
  • Supports finance and operations with existing joint venture initiatives within NCP/ Azura and other assigned business units including expansions, resyndications, refinancing, and other ad-hoc financial analysis.
  • Facilitates the coordination and production of financial analysis and reporting processes on a routine basis for the retrospective review of prior acquisitions.
  • Participates in cross-divisional team meetings on a routine basis; utilizing in-depth knowledge to promote and influence continuous improvement efforts.
  • Provides leadership, guidance and coaching for all direct reports to maintain an engaged and productive workforce; partnering with Human Resources on employee matters.
  • Collaborates with employees in the establishment of clear and concise development plans to ensure succession planning and the advancement of future leaders within the organization.
  • Provides technical guidance.
  • Assists with various projects as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Ability to work extended hours including weekends with extensive travel for an extended period of time for large acquisitions.
  • This position requires approximately 10% to 20% travel.

SUPERVISION:

  • Responsible for the direct supervision of various levels of financial analysis staff within multiple business units

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Advanced Degree preferred

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 10+ years' related experience in finance, accounting, corporate development, or business development
  • 5+ years' experience managing / supervising staff
  • 5+ years' experience in a healthcare related field
  • Strong computer skills with advanced proficiency in word processing, excel spreadsheet, database, presentation, and email applications.
  • Great time management skills with the ability to multitask concurrent priorities in an organized manner.
  • Strong management skills with the ability to lead cohesive and productive teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management through diplomacy and tact.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
