Reporting to the First Line Manager, the Operational Administrator plays a pivotal role in supporting the success of our North Operations. This position is responsible for delivering high quality, efficient day-to-day administrative support that enables operational teams to perform at their best and ensures the smooth running of business activities.
As the welcoming face of the operation, you will act as the first point of contact for visitors and Kuehne+Nagel employees, providing a professional, friendly, and responsive service at all times. Your ability to manage priorities, maintain accurate records, coordinate administrative processes, and communicate effectively across teams will be key to driving operational excellence.

How you create impact
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities for agency colleagues, ensuring a smooth and compliant employee lifecycle experience.
- Manage agency timesheet collation, validation, and reporting
- Raise, process, and reconcile purchase orders through approved systems, including Acon.
- Maintain organisational charts, site communications, notice boards, contact directories, and document archives to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
- Support employee engagement initiatives, including surveys, device distribution, and data collection activities.
- Conduct routine site and location checks to support operational compliance and standards.
- Administer IT assets, systems, and user access, including equipment purchases, fault resolution, login management, and mobile device control.
- Support operational governance through the management of work instructions, process controls, and system authorisations.
- Monitor and support audit performance metrics, contributing to Continuous Improvement initiatives that drive operational efficiency and service excellence.
What we would like you to bring
- Competent user of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues effectively.
- Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships at all levels.
- Able to work independently or collaboratively within a team environment.
