Job Description
This position is responsible for technical support at all Vericast locations; analyzes and resolves faults, whether it is a major system crash or a forgotten password, while undertaking routine preventative measures and deploying new hardware to users.
Key Duties / Responsibilities
- The Support Engineer I has responsibility for Windows support including patch management and vulnerability management, along with system and hardware refreshes. 20%
- The Support Engineer I work in ServiceNow working with Windows and many applications that support the business. 20%
- This position is required to provide on-call support along with upgrade deployments that maybe done on nights and weekends. 20%
- The Support Engineer will provide training and technical support for users with varying levels of IT knowledge and competence while working closely with other departments/organizations and collaborating with other IT staff. 10%
- The Support Engineer I will need to be able to identify process improvement needs and communicate these needs with leadership. 10%
- The Support Engineer I will need to be able to adapt quickly to new processes and ever-changing technologies. 10%
- This position will include Project based work that will be led by the manager or other managers and status will need to be provided in a timely manner. 10%
Qualifications
Education & Knowledge Required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (required)
- A+ certifications (preferred)
Experience / Skills / Abilities Required
- Experience supporting desktop and laptop hardware, Windows Server, Active Directory, application and OS patching, hardware, and software break-fix, and troubleshooting various internal applications and hardware.
- Technically proficient in application/component or system; may act as an internal consultant.
- Operating systems: Windows Systems with limited exposure to Linux environments
- Ability to create and document standards and procedures.
- Strong ability to analyze failures and prioritize resolution efforts.
- Ability to support users and systems in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Maintain a positive attitude in all situations.
- Flexibility to meet customer needs or project goals.
- Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell or similar)
- Understanding of security best practices (patching, endpoint protection, least privilege)
Additional Information
- Ability to work 2nd Shift (1:30 pm to 10:00 pm); extended hours and on-call responsibilities are required.
- To perform the duties of this job, you will be required to be onsite.

Salary range: $66,000 - $72,000 + Shift Differential $5,000 Annually
