About SkyLink

SkyLink builds AI products for the travel industry. Our flagship product is an AI corporate travel agent that lives directly in Slack and Microsoft Teams, helping enterprises book and manage travel faster and more intelligently while integrating with their existing policies, systems, and travel management companies.

Now part of the Amadeus family, SkyLink is building the next generation of AI-powered travel products for companies and travelers worldwide. We are backed by Menlo Ventures, Y Combinator, Human Capital, and Fortune 50 executives, with advisors including former CEOs of leading global travel companies.

About the Role

We’re looking for a full-stack engineer with deep frontend expertise to help build the best-in-class AI travel management platform.

You will lead the development of SkyLink’s web experience, creating a seamless extension of our AI agent across Slack, Microsoft Teams, and the browser. Travelers will be able to begin a trip in chat and move naturally into rich web/mobile interfaces when needed—or start directly on the web.

You will build intuitive traveler experiences, operational tools for travel management companies, and administrative dashboards for corporate customers. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience building polished, user-friendly frontends while also understanding the APIs, data models, and workflows that power them.

A Great Fit

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, with significant experience building complex frontend applications in React and TypeScript

  • Has built polished, responsive, and performant user experiences for nuanced workflows

  • Is comfortable working across the stack, from UI components and application state to APIs and relational data models

  • Can understand complex orchestration and translate backend workflows into simple, intuitive user experiences

  • Thinks critically about product and design rather than simply implementing mocks

  • Proactively identifies ways to simplify workflows, reduce engineering effort, and improve maintainability

  • Is scrappy, knows how to ship, and values progress over perfection

  • Has strong software design, security, testing, and relational database fundamentals

  • Wants to set, maintain, and adhere to high engineering standards across testing, documentation, code review, and architecture

  • Enjoys using the latest AI coding tools and development harnesses to build production systems

  • Wants ownership and autonomy in a role that will accelerate their professional and personal growth

You Will

  • Build SkyLink’s web-based traveler experience, including flight and hotel search, comparison, booking, trip management, rebooking, and cancellation

  • Create seamless handoffs between SkyLink’s Slack and Microsoft Teams experiences and richer web interfaces

  • Build dashboards and operational tools for corporate travel administrators and travel management companies

  • Develop reusable frontend components for complex travel content, including itineraries, fares, policies, approvals, traveler profiles, and booking workflows

  • Work closely with product and design to challenge unnecessary complexity and propose simpler, more scalable solutions

  • Understand SkyLink’s orchestration, APIs, and data models to design frontend systems that accurately represent complex travel workflows

  • Design and implement APIs and database models needed to support new user experiences

  • Improve frontend performance, reliability, accessibility, observability, and testing

  • Help define the architecture and engineering standards for SkyLink’s growing web platform

  • Work directly with customers and internal teams to understand how travelers and administrators interact with the product

Tech Stack

  • Frontend: React, TypeScript

  • Backend: Python, Django, Celery, Redis, PostgreSQL

  • Infrastructure: AWS, Docker

About the interview

Introduction zoom chat with a cofounder

This is an informal call for us to meet each other and get to know one another. The
conversation will cover some light technical discussion about your past projects and
your ability to code and build fairly involved systems. We would like to hear details
about those projects and both your product and technical decisions (good or bad)
which show ownership and autonomy. We also want to understand what you are
looking for in your next role and why you are interested in early-stage companies. You will get to ask us about the role and learn about what working at SkyLink will feel like.

Two technical interviews

These technical interviews will give you an ability to show off your system design and
backend programming skills. We will evaluate your ability to critically think, create
complex backends, and scale real world systems.
