Job Summary

Alaska Overview
The Alaska segment primarily explores for, produces, transports and markets crude oil, natural gas and NGLs. We are the largest crude oil producer in Alaska and have major ownership interests in the Prudhoe Bay, Kuparuk and Western North Slope asset areas. Additionally, we are one of Alaska’s largest owners of state, federal and fee exploration leases, with approximately one million net undeveloped acres at year-end 2025. Alaska operations contributed 12 percent of our consolidated liquids production and one percent of our consolidated natural gas production.

In 2025, net crude oil production for Alaska averaged 199 MBOED.

Western North Slope Overview
The Western North Slope includes the Bear Tooth Unit (as highlighted above), the Colville River Unit and the Greater Mooses Tooth Unit. These units also leverage shared regional infrastructure, which underpins base operations and facilitates continued development across the Western North Slope. In 2025, we operated one part-time drilling rig in the Colville River Unit. The Colville River Unit includes the Alpine Field and four satellite fields. Field installations include one central production facility, which separates oil, natural gas and water. The Greater Mooses Tooth Unit is the first unit established entirely within the National Petroleum Reserve Alaska (NPRA). The unit was constructed in two phases: Greater Mooses Tooth #1 (GMT1) and Greater Mooses Tooth #2 (GMT2).

In 2025, net crude oil production in the Western North Slope averaged 39 MBOED.

Position Overview

The Field Environmental Coordinator will lead by example and give full support to the health, safety and environmental (HSE) policies, goals, efforts and programs of the CPAI (ConocoPhillips Alaska) HSE Management System. The Coordinator will provide effective environmental support to WNS Operations, and additional support to Capital Projects, Drilling & Wells, and Exploration to maintain excellent environmental stewardship throughout the North Slope.  Develop environmental programs in accordance with Corporate, CPAI and statutory requirements.

In addition, the Coordinator will contribute to the development of an excellent HSE department by communicating environmental policies and standards to staff; implementing initiatives to improve environmental practice and awareness; and recommending effective environmental management programs.

This position will work a rotating, 2 week on/ 2 week off schedule on the North Slope.

This is a Safety Sensitive position.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Strong safety leadership and a commitment to developing an incident free culture with North Slope Operations.
• Serving as a technical resource by providing guidance and assistance to the field and coordinating programs to validate compliance with environmental regulations related to: air operating permits, federal New Source Performance Standards, Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) plans, Alaska Oil Discharge Prevention Contingency Plans, National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (APDES) permits, spill reporting and prevention, waste disposal and material reuse, waste minimization, wildlife, land, water quality, water use, and other related field environmental issues as required.
• Identifying environmental risks, issues, and mitigation strategies, and communicating with HSE staff members and other internal business partners.
• Assessing field activities by conducting onsite audits and site visits to validate environmental compliance.  A minimum of 10% of time will be spent doing procedural verifications.
• Providing written compliance reports to agencies; representing ConocoPhillips during agency inspections; and maintaining contacts and working relationships with local, state, and federal agency personnel.
• Designing and conducting environmental training programs.
• Maintaining environmental manuals and key databases.
• Providing environmental support during incident response efforts under the CPAI Incident Management Team.
• Coordinating facility tours and/or classes for external agency stakeholders.
• Assisting with regulatory advocacy efforts focused on permitting-related local, state or federal regulatory initiatives.
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Basic/Required:

• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Current/valid driver’s license
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in engineering, safety, industrial hygiene, environmental science or related field or foreign equivalent
• 5 or more years of environmental permitting and compliance experience with emphasis on upstream exploration, production, industrial, or abandonment operations
• Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to work a 2 week on, 2 week off schedule in a remote location
• Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to travel up to 10% of the time
• Willing and able to meet the physical demands and work environment requirements outlined in this job description, with or without reasonable accommodation

Preferred:

• Master’s Degree or higher in environmental engineering or science, biology, geology or related sciences or foreign equivalent
• 3 or more years of experience in Alaska environmental compliance (air, water, spill prevention and response including SPCC)
• 1 or more years of experience working with external communities and stakeholders
• 1 or more years of experience working with third-party contractors to cost-effectively achieve business goals
• 1 or more years of Alaska North Slope experience
• 1 or more years of experience in and understanding of multimedia environmental regulations and their applicability to upstream oil and gas operations.
• Advanced interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive relations with HSE and External Affairs team members, external stakeholders, internal business partners and natural resource management / regulatory agencies
• Advanced communication (written, oral and formal presentation/PowerPoint) skills essential
• Intermediate knowledge of Alaska local, state and federal environmental and land use regulations (North Slope Borough, AK Dept. of Environmental Conservation, AK Dept. of Natural Resources, Environmental Protection Agency, and Bureau of Ocean Energy Management) including the National Environmental Policy Act and its application to oil and gas projects
• Beginner knowledge of project management processes and tools (e.g. project planning, budgeting, prioritization, scheduling, critical path analysis, cost tracking) and Decision and Risk Analysis
• Ability to promptly identify, surface, and facilitate resolution of conflicts between project stakeholders

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

• Work in temperature extremes and adverse weather conditions
• Work both in and out of a company-provided vehicle
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
