Overview:

In this role the Lead Engineer will actively participate in NPI, redesign, Production support, obsolescence and sustenance activities of Aircraft Evacuation Systems and components. Collaborate with Engineering and Operation cross functional team in India and USA.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Participate in New Product Development and Engineering Change Management Process
• Review and understand product specifications and determine design requirements and scope of work.
• Ability to read, understand and create technical drawings per standard
• Creating design documentation - System level or component level test plan, conducting tests, writing test reports and engineering change orders
• Provide technical support to BLR Evacuation Systems Operations and work with Cross functional team.
• Tools/fixtures design, drafting and fabrication.
• Should have knowledge in GD&T (ASME 14.5) and Tolerance stack up analysis
• Working knowledge on CAD application - CREO 2.0 or above
• Create 2D pattern drawing by extracting surface data from 3D models
• Proficiency in CAD softwares (2D) - AutoCAD, key creator and other CAD (3D) – Catia, Unigraphics is desired
• Work experience on PLM tool -Teamcenter, SAP
• Experience in Analysis Tools (ANSYS) is desired.
• Proficiency in Microsoft office – Word, Excel, and Presentation.
• Communicates with business units in USA (effective written and verbal communication is required for the purpose of achieving successful job performance)
• Team Player and Interpersonal skills to work with cross functional product development team.
• Attention to details to ensure high quality work to customers.
• Lead and participate in preparation of common procedures and standard work to optimize efficiency and quality.
   

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's/master’s degree in mechanical engineering/mechanical design
• 3 to 5 years of Industry experience in New Product Development, Engineering change management, Redesign, CAD Activities and manufacturing process and obsolescence activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Aerospace mechanical design product development
• Minimum 3-year experience in CAD application, Creo 2.0 or above
• Experience in ANSI ASME Y14.5 and others - geometric tolerance and stack-ups
• Experience in surface modelling and advanced assembly (Large CAD data handling, Issue Resolution)
• Knowledge of machine design, materials, and manufacturing processes and problem solving.
• Sound Mechanical Engineering Fundamentals and experience on hand-calculations
