The role

You will work with Accenture teams and clients on shaping and executing strategic transformation programme for large businesses and government departments. As a Consultant you will be responsible for work across programmes that include process redesign, AI and system implementation, and business transformation, among others. You will support Accenture leaders on complex transformation programmes, helping clients simplify, redesign, and implement improved ways of working, often leveraging technology and AI in how you do the work and in how teams’ work will be transformed. You will translate business problems into practical transformation plans, combining process redesign, operating model change, AI/automation, data and technology implementation, and value realisation. You will be accountable for delivering quality analysis, supporting client and Accenture teams as needed, tracking value and benefits (how do our clients get return on investment from the work we do together), and ensuring our recommendations are practical, implementable, and aligned to client strategy.

Using your skills and industry knowledge, you will guide our clients towards a well-defined target state while effectively managing change at scale. You will make use of your industry and technology competence e.g., in transformation, AI, Cloud, Data or Security to build rapport with stakeholders in both business and technology functions and facilitate quick and effective decisions. Your key focus will be on preparing high quality analysis, project management, and solving problems together with the engagement teams you join.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transformation: Execute transformation programmes together with senior team members
  • Technology expertise: Use your working knowledge of tech-enabled transformation, including experience working with one or more of AI, Cloud, Data, Security, workflow platforms, or core enterprise systems
  • Design and delivery: Design practical target-state processes, service models, governance structures and implementation roadmaps
  • Analysis: Analyse client data, processes, operating models and performance issues to identify areas for improvement. Define and track value realisation measures, such as productivity, cost, customer experience, employee experience, risk reduction and other financial and non-financial outcome
  • Programme management: Manage day-to-day delivery across Accenture and client teams, including planning, issue resolution, stakeholder alignment and decision support
  • Executive problem solving: Prepare clear executive-level materials, recommendations and business cases for senior client stakeholders
  • Relationships: Confident establishing and maintaining trusted advisor relationships with clients and influencing decision makers. Establishes a solid network across Accenture
  • Sales and business development: Support business development, sales opportunities, practice capability building and thought leadership. Actively seek to increase the commercial footprint of the practice through delivery of quality product and advice. Meets or exceeds agreed chargeability, business development, professional development and recruitment; and market facing metrics
  • Practice development: Identity areas for improvement across the practice including industry best practice frameworks and methodologies. Contribute to thought leadership within the practice. Share experiences across the practice, providing insight into engagements
  • Adaptability: The role requires a flexible and adaptable nature

Key levels of experience are:

  • Relevant Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a professional services organisation, working alongside key senior stakeholders, modelling and supporting transformation journeys, and delivering strategic proposals.

EXPERTISE:

Depth:

  • Typically has a minimum of 3 to 8 years of experience doing similar work either at or outside of Accenture
  • Expected to be a SME with deep knowledge in an area of expertise based on experience

Breadth of Knowledge:

  • Expected to be knowledgeable about the work performed by their immediate team and teams they collaborate with

DECISION MAKING:

Impact & Risk:

  • Typically receives direction and feedback from their supervisor on setting priorities or assigning and managing tasks on a weekly to bi-weekly basis
  • Expected consequences for mistakes in their work would include missing team deadlines and may be escalated to a managing director
  • Involved in risk mitigation decisions for multiple teams

Authority:

  • Responsible for decisions that apply across multiple teams, and expected to contribute to business area decisions

SCOPE:

Problem Solving:

  • Expected to provide solutions to problems that apply across multiple teams

Complexity:

  • Provided guidance to help them complete their work on a weekly or bi-weekly basis
  • Expected to complete similar tasks on a weekly basis (not including responding to emails and attending meetings)

Span:

  • Breadth of responsibilities extends across multiple teams' projects/work efforts

People Management:

  • If people management is part of their role, typically directly supervises up to 5 employees, and indirectly supervises up to 15 employees

COLLABORATION:

Collaboration Internal:

  • Typically has frequent exposure up to ML 6 and expected to do the following in meetings:
    • Provide status updates about their project-specific contribution
    • Answer questions about their project-specific contribution
  • Typically has limited exposure to ML 5 - ML 4 and expected to do the following in meetings:
    • Mostly observe
    • Occasionally provide input
    • Provide status updates about their project-specific contribution

Collaboration External:

  • If in a client-facing role, expected to interact with clients who are senior management and do the following in meetings:
  • Lead project status updates
