WHOOP is seeking a Lead Visual Merchandising Designer to define how members experience the WHOOP brand across every physical retail touchpoint. In this highly cross-functional leadership role, you will develop the visual merchandising strategy for wholesale, owned retail, shop-in-shop, and experiential environments, creating scalable merchandising systems and compelling retail storytelling that elevate the customer experience while driving brand consistency and commercial performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define and lead the global visual merchandising strategy across wholesale, owned retail, shop-in-shop, and experiential environments.

  • Develop scalable merchandising standards, fixture systems, retail toolkits, and design guidelines that ensure consistent execution across global retail channels.

  • Design compelling product presentations, seasonal campaigns, launch experiences, and in-store storytelling that communicate the WHOOP brand and product value.

  • Partner closely with Brand, Retail Experience, Product Marketing, Merchandising, Operations, Sales, and external fabrication partners to bring retail initiatives from concept through production.

  • Lead the development of fixture systems and branded retail assets, overseeing prototyping, fabrication, production quality, and implementation.

  • Use customer insights, retail performance data, and emerging retail trends to continuously improve merchandising effectiveness and influence future retail experiences.

  • Establish best practices, mentor cross-functional partners, and champion design excellence across the retail organization.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or a related design discipline.

  • 4–6 years of experience in visual merchandising, retail design, industrial design, experiential design, or related fields.

  • Demonstrated experience leading visual merchandising programs across multiple retail environments and channels.

  • Strong portfolio showcasing retail storytelling, fixture design, product presentation, and branded customer experiences.

  • Expertise in retail fixtures, materials, fabrication processes, and production management.

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on design execution while managing multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks, ensuring AI-assisted

    This role is based in the WHOOP office located in Boston, MA. The successful candidate must be prepared to relocate if necessary to work out of the Boston, MA office.

    The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $100,000 - $150,000. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within each range, individual pay is based on factors such as job-related skills, experience, performance, and relevant education or training.

    In addition to the base salary, the successful candidate will also receive benefits and a generous equity package.

    These ranges may be modified in the future to reflect evolving market conditions and organizational needs. While most offers will typically fall toward the starting point of the range, total compensation will depend on the candidate’s specific qualifications, expertise, and alignment with the role’s requirements.
