How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Trailer drivers are responsible for loading and delivering liquid products from our Langley Bulk Depot throughout the Greater Vancouver area. This position is for the afternoon shift, operating Monday through Friday with a 5 p.m. start time.

Pay Rate : $38.84 (85%), and $45.69 (100%) once 1080 hours have been completed.

  • Prepares the trip: Obtains the waybill and makes sure that it contains all of the information required (vehicle no., product, source, certification, client, etc.).  Gathers all of the documentation and equipment required for the trip (bill of lading, shipping and transportation documents for dangerous materials, analysis certificates, uses tablets/cell phones provided by the company, etc.).  Inspects the equipment before leaving, records any defects that must be corrected in the inspection report and informs the maintenance coordinator and the dispatcher.  Checks road conditions and reviews the customers’ requirements.

  • Delivers the products: Makes sure that the truck is loaded in compliance with the procedures and regulations.  Affixes any placards required for dangerous materials.  Upon arriving at the delivery site, checks the condition of equipment and facility.  Records any defects observed at the facility and submits the record in real time using provided applications.  Contacts the dispatcher for any delivery non-compliance.  Deposits the product in the client’s tank in accordance with established procedures.

  • Follows up upon returning from the trip: Upon returning from the trip, inspects the equipment and records any defects noted so that repairs can be made.  Hands in his/her bar code reader so that the information can be confirmed.  Hands in all of the documentation for the trip so that it can be validated. Uses the necessary tools to ensure efficiency and follow-up of operations, i.e. Geotab, ALTO, etc.

  • Ensures administrative follow-up: Provides accurate delivery slips for all ALC products sold to clients so as to ensure accurate invoicing.  Obtains and enters relevant information in the bar code system. Completes the forms and records for which he/she is responsible.

  • Process improvement: Works with his/her team and other multi-functional teams to continuously improve the work process.  Analyzes his/her activities, identifies the causes of problems, and proposes adapted corrective measures.

  • Maintain effective communication with dispatchers and supervisors on and ongoing basis to ensure smooth and timely operations.

Are you a MATCH?

  • Diploma: Vocational Diploma Truck Driver Training or Secondary school diploma combined with relevant experience

  • Training: Quality system (ISO), transportation of dangerous materials, cryogenics.

  • Knowledge: Computerized systems, MS Office, Oral and written communication skills, mechanical skills.

  • Experience: Class 1 Drivers license with minimum 3 years of recent and continuous full time experience as a tractor-trailer truck driver, with at least 1 full year of continuous and full time experience hauling liquid/tanker products.  (Must have)

  • Must be flexible in working hours with regard to Overtime

  • Shifts - Monday to Friday 17:00 - 01:00 (Afternoon shift)
