Job Description:
This job is responsible for defining an architectural vision and solution that supports the strategic outcomes of the Business' Products and Services. Key responsibilities include defining the target operating environment, designing for client resiliency, assisting with solution design, and defining non-functional requirements. Job expectations include working with stakeholders and service providers aligned to the Business' strategic objectives, evaluating the impact of strategic design decisions, and contributing to the architecture roadmap.
The Document, Content & Record Services (DCRS) team is seeking an experienced Generative AI Architect to lead the design, implementation, and scaling of next-generation Document AI solutions supporting critical business processes within the financial services industry. This role will be responsible for architecting enterprise-grade AI platforms that leverage Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), document classification, intelligent data extraction, and semantic search capabilities to transform how document-centric business processes are delivered.
The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in software and solution architecture, Generative AI technologies, cloud-native deployment, and AI governance. They will work closely with engineering, product, infrastructure, and compliance teams to design secure, scalable, and compliant AI solutions capable of operating in a highly regulated environment. This role requires a strategic thinker with hands-on technical expertise, a strong sense of ownership, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and executive stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Works across the business, operations and technology to create the solution intent and architectural vision for complex solutions and prioritize functional and non-functional requirements into a technology backlog to enable the technology roadmap and functionality to support evolving capabilities and services
Contributes to the creation of the architecture roadmap of defined domains (Business, Application, Data, and Technology) in support of the product roadmap and the development of best practices including standardized templates
Clarifies the architecture, assists with system design to support implementation, and provides solution options to resolve any architectural impediments
Facilitates solution driven discussions, leads the design of complex architectures, and finds creative solutions through knowledge of domain, practical experiments, and proof of concepts while ensuring architecture is flexible, modular, and adaptable
Educates team members on the technology practices, standardization strategies, and best practices to create innovative solutions
Supports the team as needed to select the technology stack required for solutions and helps select preferred technology products
Performs design and code reviews to ensure all non-functional requirements are sufficiently met (for example, security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability)
Design and architect Generative AI solutions aligned to business and technology objectives.
Lead the end-to-end solution design for AI-powered applications using Large Language Models (LLMs).
Evaluate and recommend Gen AI platforms, models, frameworks, and architectural patterns.
Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and reusable AI solution designs.
Define integration patterns between Gen AI solutions and enterprise applications, APIs, databases, and cloud platforms.
Establish governance, security, privacy, and responsible AI controls.
Develop prototypes, proofs of concept (POCs), and reference architectures.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, developers, data scientists, and infrastructure teams.
Optimize AI solutions for performance, cost, scalability, and reliability.
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and architectural oversight throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Required Qualifications:
8+ years of relevant work experience
Proficiency in programming language(s) required for the role
Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs), including GPT, Claude, Gemini, Llama, and related foundation models.
Prompt Engineering, AI Orchestration, and Agentic AI design patterns.
Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), semantic retrieval, and knowledge-grounded AI solutions.
Vector Databases, Embeddings, Semantic Search, and Retrieval Optimization.
AI Agent Frameworks and Multi-Agent Architectures.
Cloud Platforms including Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
API Development, Microservices Architecture, and Enterprise Application Integration.
Strong programming experience in Python; experience with Java and/or .NET preferred.
Data Architecture, Information Management, AI Security, and Responsible AI practices.
Experience with AI/ML frameworks and tools such as LangChain, LangGraph, FastAPI, OpenAI, Hugging Face, and Elastic Search.
Knowledge of MLOps, model deployment, monitoring, governance, and performance optimization.
Experience with GPU-enabled environments, cloud-native architectures, and scalable AI deployment patterns.
