Program Summary
The MISS program is a comprehensive initiative aimed at supporting the US Department of State’s operations in Iraq. In addition to providing ongoing base operations and Life Support Services, KBR will provide differentiated advisory and consultancy capabilities to the Iraqi Government with a focus on creating an effective program environment to support delivery of strategic economic planning, strategy development, feasibility studies, technical reviews and large-scale project management. Under this contract KBR will provide facility maintenance, procurement, critical supply functions, along with food service, base camp operations, renovations, construction, and medical services.
Job Summary
The Janitor Lead provides direct supervision and leadership over janitorial staff supporting KBR operations under the U.S. Mission Iraq (MISS). The role is responsible for ensuring all assigned facilities are maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition, in full compliance with KBR policies, U.S. Government standards, and Embassy regulations. The Janitor Lead coordinates daily tasks, conducts inspections, and serves as the primary point of contact between janitorial staff and site management.
Please note: This position is located in Baghdad, Iraq and is contingent on award.
Roles and Responsibilities
Lead, supervise, and coordinate daily activities of assigned janitorial staff
Assign work schedules, duties, and areas of responsibility
Ensure cleaning services meet KBR, MISS, and U.S. Embassy cleanliness standards
Conduct routine inspections to verify quality and compliance
Train new and existing janitorial staff on proper cleaning methods and safety practices
Ensure proper use, storage, and accountability of cleaning supplies and equipment
Maintain inventory of janitorial supplies and submit replenishment requests
Enforce compliance with safety policies, PPE requirements, and SDS/MSDS guidelines
Basic Qualifications
Must be a Local National.
Must be able to communicate (read/write/speak) English
Must be able to obtain and maintain a MRPT
Must obtain and maintain local base access
Must possess a valid Country or International Driver’s License
Must have a minimum of (4) years of related job experience
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience supporting U.S. Embassy, Department of State, or military facilities
Prior employment on KBR, LOGCAP, or U.S. Government contracts
Demonstrated experience supervising multi‑cultural or multinational workforces
Familiarity with MISS inspection standards and reporting requirements
Knowledge of safe chemical handling and SDS/MSDS documentation
Strong attention to detail and quality assurance
Experience preparing sites for VIP visits or high‑visibility inspections
