District Sales Manager (Eastern Canada - Bilingual)

We are looking for a dedicated candidate to take on a Factory Automation District Sales Manager (DSM) role based in Eastern Canada (Quebec or Maritimes). You will be responsible for leading and growing an established territory covering Factory Automation customers and channel partners. IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE: 

  1. Sales Execution:

    • Develop and implement effective sales strategies and plans to exceed sales targets within the assigned territory for Factory Automation Market.

    • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities and market trends and capitalize on them to drive revenue growth.

    • Build and maintain a sales pipeline, with a consistent focus on new customer acquisition, opportunity creation and closure.

    • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to stay ahead of the competition.

  2. Customer Relationship Management:

    • Actively engage channel partners with a focus on sales and market share growth; hold them accountable to sales targets, activity levels, and joint business development plans.

    • Maintain strong relationships with existing Factory Automation key customers.

    • Understand customer needs, provide technical expertise, and offer solutions that align with their requirements.

    • Address customer concerns and issues promptly, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

  3. Sales Reporting and Forecasting:

    • Prepare regular sales reports, including sales activity, customer feedback, and Factory Automation market trends analysis.

    • Provide accurate sales forecasts and participate in the annual budgeting process.

  4. Industry Knowledge and Product Expertise:

    • Stay up to date with industry trends, market developments, and emerging technologies related to Fluid and Motion Control - Key brands include ASCO, and Aventics.

    • Collaborate with the FA Industry Sales team to align new product development with evolving market needs and technology demands

    • Develop a deep understanding of Fluid and Motion Control’s product portfolio supporting Factory Automation industries – Forestry, Pharmacutical, Food/Beverage, Packaging, special machinery etc.

  5. Conduct product presentations and demonstrations to customers, showcasing the value proposition of Emerson's products and solutions.

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED

  • Post Secondary Technical graduate in Engineering or College degree in Instrumentation, Controls and Automation or related field.

  • 3+ years of relevant technical sales experience in mechanical/electrical automation or process industry

  • Bilingual (French and English).

  • Strong presentation, communication, and networking skills both in-person and virtually

  • Must excel in relationship building, negotiation and customer service skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Teams

  • Possess a valid driver’s license in good standing.

  • Ability to travel 25% - 35% with overnight and extended travel days within the assigned territory. 
  • Authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship now and in the future

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART: 

  • Fluid Power knowledge/experience 

  • Proficiency in using CRM software, and sales-related tools. 

  • Experience with Salesforce would be beneficial.

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process.  The salary/pay range for this role is $80,000 - $110000 annually + bonuses, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
