Position summary: 

The Senior Category Manager, Business Development & Moments leads a Beauty & Personal Care Center of Excellence focused on accelerating growth through a disciplined business development funnel, seasonal in/out strategy, and high-impact partnership opportunities. You will be responsible for identifying, shaping, and advancing new growth opportunities across prestige, emerging brands, licensing and IP, and culturally relevant retail moments that increase traffic, basket, and brand differentiation. 

As the Senior Category Manager you will set the vertical strategy and commercial roadmap for new opportunities while partnering across merchandising, marketing, operations, supply chain, finance, and supplier teams to move ideas from concept to launch. Managing a TT /minis P&L, with additional results rolling into existing sub-category P&Ls. 

Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Lead Growth Strategy & Center of Excellence --Lead the strategy and operating model for the BPC Moments, Business Development, and Growth vertical, establishing it as a center of excellence that drives innovation, trend identification, and scalable growth opportunities. 
  • Drive Business Development & New Growth Opportunities--Build and manage a repeatable growth pipeline for emerging brands, partnerships, licensing, IP, retail concepts, prestige, K-beauty, skin services, limited-edition collaborations, and other high-potential opportunities. 
  • Own Trend-to-Scale Commercialization Strategy --Define seasonal in/out strategies and leverage the T&T and Minis P&L to introduce trending and best-selling products, test consumer demand, and determine opportunities worthy of broader scale and investment. 
  • Evaluate, Prioritize & Recommend Strategic Investments --Assess consumer trends, competitive activity, and commercial potential to develop recommendations on growth bets, while ensuring appropriate validation, governance, and investment decision gates are in place. 
  • Execute Launches & Maximize Commercial Performance --Partner cross-functionally to develop launch roadmaps, influence co-marketing, retail theater, and adjacency strategies, and drive successful execution of new products, brands, and experiences. 
  • Lead Team Performance & Business Accountability--Lead and develop the team responsible for trend intelligence, launch coordination, performance tracking, and operating model execution while establishing clear ownership, accountability, success metrics, and continuous improvement processes across the portfolio. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Required, MBA preferred 
  • 10+ years of experience beauty/skincare merchandising, category management, or related business leadership roles
  • Previous direct talent leadership with the ability to create accountability, development, and bench strength 
  • Previous strategic business development and partnership leadership 
  • Proven commercial judgment with the ability to assess growth opportunities quickly and rigorously 
  • Experience building cross-functional operating models in complex matrixed environments 
  • Previous experience connecting trend, consumer, and competitive insights to actionable retail strategies 
  • Proven experience storytelling and influencing skills with senior leaders and external partners 
  • Demonstrated ability navigating ambiguity, removing roadblocks, and accelerating speed to execution 

Education:

Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$100,000.00 - $231,540.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
