Director, Marketing and Communications
Posting Date
07/31/20262000 16th Street, Denver, Colorado, 80202, United States of AmericaThe Director, Marketing & Communications Analytics builds and leads the integrated analytics and measurement capability that enables DaVita leaders to understand experience, engagement and retention performance; identify the audiences, journeys, channels and messages driving results; and make clear decisions about experience priorities, communications effectiveness and investment. The Director establishes a holistic KPI architecture and connects behavioral, attitudinal, media, web, CRM, search, AI-visibility, brand and reputation signals into an executive-ready view of performance and opportunity.
This is a hands-on builder-leader role. The Director owns measurement strategy, analytical development, executive dashboards and scorecards, data visualization, metric governance, insight quality and decision support across experience, engagement and retention channels. The Director and team are expected to query and transform data using SQL, apply Python to analysis and automation, and personally build priority dashboards and analytical products while establishing the standards, operating model and talent required to scale the capability.
The Director owns the analytics products and business logic—not enterprise data infrastructure. The role defines requirements and acceptance criteria for data, tagging, taxonomy, identity, attribution and instrumentation and partners with IT, Enterprise Data and platform teams to enable a shared roadmap. The role does not own enterprise data platforms, production pipelines, data engineering, Salesforce administration, martech infrastructure, consumer-research execution, campaign strategy or channel activation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
In order of significance, list the essential functions and responsibilities of the position. Do not include duties that are performed infrequently or require minimal time. All other duties are accounted for in “Other Duties as Assigned,” which must remain on all Job Descriptions.
- Build the analytics and measurement capability. Establish an integrated experience, engagement and retention measurement framework that connects audiences, journeys, channels, brand, reputation and experience performance to enterprise priorities and defines how evidence will inform decisions.
- Build and govern analytics products. Lead the design, hands-on development and ongoing improvement of executive scorecards, dashboards, analytical datasets and self-service reporting products. Personally help your analysts build priority products during the capability-development period and establish scalable standards for metric logic, visualization, documentation, quality assurance, release management and adoption.
- Perform and direct hands-on analysis. Use SQL, Python and enterprise business-intelligence tools to query and integrate approved data sources, investigate performance drivers, automate recurring analysis, validate results and develop statistical, forecasting and scenario-based analyses. Review analyst and vendor work closely enough to identify coding, methodology and data-quality weaknesses.
- Own KPI architecture and governance. Define metric hierarchies, formulas, sources, transformation logic, owners, targets, confidence levels and reporting standards; govern changes so leaders receive consistent, comparable and decision-ready measures.
- Create the integrated performance narrative. Synthesize website, CRM and lifecycle, paid media, owned and earned communications, SEO/GEO, AI visibility, brand, trust, reputation and other journey signals into clear explanations of what changed, why it changed, the business implication and the recommended action.
- Improve executive decisions. Lead recurring scorecards, performance reviews and deep dives that identify trends, tradeoffs, investment shifts, accountable owners and actions—not simply performance status.
- Lead website and digital-experience analytics. Evaluate acquisition, engagement, content, accessibility, journey progression and conversion performance across DaVita.com and priority digital experiences; identify friction and recommend roadmap, content and optimization priorities.
- Lead CRM and lifecycle measurement. Define lifecycle KPIs, audience and journey reporting, test designs and longitudinal performance views; maintain analytical independence while enabling CRM leaders to improve sequencing, experience, retention and activation.
- Evaluate paid-media and cross-channel effectiveness. Set common effectiveness standards, distinguish platform-reported activity from incremental impact, evaluate audience and creative performance, and recommend allocation and optimization decisions with channel leaders and Finance.
- Measure brand, trust, reputation and communications outcomes. Connect communications exposure, message performance, brand-health research, trust and reputation measures to priority audiences and enterprise outcomes; clarify what available evidence can and cannot establish and apply consistent insight governance.
- Own SEO/GEO and AI-visibility measurement. Establish decision-grade reporting for organic visibility, AI Visibility Index, share of voice, source-citation rate and related measures; diagnose drivers and translate findings into priorities for web, content, communications and technical partners.
- Advance experimentation and analytical maturity. Build a staged roadmap for test-and-learn, incrementality, attribution, forecasting, scenario planning and predictive methods; select methods based on decision value, data quality and organizational maturity rather than false precision.
- Govern the analytics layer and data quality. Own business logic, metric calculations, analytical transformations, dashboard requirements and certification. Identify weaknesses in taxonomy, consent, tagging, identity, instrumentation, source data and vendor methods; quantify business impact, set decision-grade acceptance criteria and hold accountable owners to agreed remediation plans.
- Define data and technology requirements. Translate measurement use cases into prioritized requirements for IT, Enterprise Data, Salesforce CoE and platform partners. Validate that delivered data is accurate, accessible, timely and fit for the intended decision while leaving production data models, pipelines, integrations, infrastructure and platform operations with their accountable technical owners.
- Establish cross-functional operating rhythms. Lead a measurement council and own analytics intake and prioritization across Digital Marketing, Communications, Experience, CRM, Finance, IT, Enterprise Data and agencies; publish priorities, capacity, dependencies, decisions and escalation paths.
- Build and lead the analytics team. Set clear accountabilities, technical and quality standards, coverage models and development plans for the Marketing Analyst and CRM Analyst. Coach the team to build reliable products, communicate concise executive conclusions and recommendations, and create operating resilience and succession.
- Hold internal teams, agencies and vendors accountable. Set requirements for data access, code and metric documentation, methodology, benchmarks, quality, timeliness and knowledge transfer; challenge unsupported claims and ensure DaVita retains the logic and evidence required to evaluate performance.
- Protect data and use AI responsibly. Apply DaVita privacy, security, compliance and responsible-AI standards to data access, coding, dashboard development, modeling and insight generation; ensure methods are transparent, appropriately governed and reviewed for quality, bias and misuse.
