Apply today!About the roleThe CDL A Driver II is responsible for transporting non hazardous materials between Reworld facilities and customer sites, primarily operating walking floor trailers on a dedicated lane from Milwaukee to Indianapolis. This role is home daily and offers schedule flexibility, allowing drivers to adjust start times to avoid Chicago traffic. All potential applicants must be legally able to operate manual transmission equipment, automatic restriction licenses cannot be accommodatedPrimary ResponsibilitiesSafely operate Class A tractor trailer equipment to transport materials on a dedicated Milwaukee to Indianapolis lane while meeting scheduled delivery requirementsOperate walking floor trailers, with potential for limited tanker work depending on business needsPerform pre trip and post trip inspections of vehicle and equipment to ensure safe operationMaintain compliance with DOT regulations, company safety policies, and HOS requirementsAdditional ResponsibilitiesComplete all required administrative paperwork including logs, delivery documentation, and vehicle inspection reportsCommunicate clearly with dispatch, facility contacts, and other drivers regarding schedules, delays, or operational issuesEnsure vehicles are operated safely to protect employees, customers, and the publicFollow written and verbal directions and navigate assigned routes efficientlyPerform additional duties as assigned based on operational needsSchedule and Home TimeHome daily, weather and traffic dependentFlexible start times to avoid peak Chicago trafficDrivers may start earlier or later based on personal preference and route efficiencyRequired QualificationsMust be 21 years of age or olderValid CDL Class A licenseMinimum of 2 years of commercial tractor trailer driving experienceAcceptable driving recordAbility to safely operate manual transmission equipmentPreferred QualificationsWalking floor trailer experienceTanker endorsement preferred but not requiredLong haul or regional driving experienceExperience operating in Midwest traffic corridorsEquipmentAssigned sleeper cab Freightliner tractorsManual transmissionWalking floor trailers, with potential for tanker equipment as neededPhysical DemandsAbility to sit, stand, walk, and climb for extended periodsAbility to lift and carry up to 50 poundsAbility to work in various weather conditionsAbility to safely access equipment and trailers as requiredBenefitsMedical, dental, and vision coverageHealth savings and flexible spending account optionsRetirement savings planPaid time off and company holidaysEmployee assistance programsCompany‑provided safety training and development opportunitiesIn addition to salary, this role is eligible for benefits.
