About the Role
• Engine by MoneyLion is seeking a Sr. Principal Business Intelligence Analyst to serve as the senior-most individual contributor within the Product Analytics organization.
• Engine provides the infrastructure that connects consumers with personalized financial products through a network of financial institutions and distribution partners, matching millions of consumers with lending, deposit, credit card and other products via an API-driven marketplace.
• This role sits at the intersection of product innovation, business strategy, and analytics leadership — one of the highest-impact individual contributor positions within the organization, helping shape how Engine measures product success, evaluates customer experiences, and makes strategic product investment decisions.
• Key cross-functional partners: Product, Engineering, Revenue, Operations, and Executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities
• Drive Product and Business Strategy — serve as a trusted strategic advisor to Product, Engineering, and Executive leadership; influence roadmap prioritization through data-driven recommendations and opportunity sizing; evaluate strategic investments and new product concepts through rigorous analysis and business case development.
• Lead Product Analytics Across Multiple Domains — own analytics strategy across multiple product areas and consumer journeys; define and evolve North Star metrics, KPI frameworks, and measurement standards.
• Establish Analytics and Experimentation Standards — lead the design and evaluation of complex A/B tests and experimentation programs; partner with Product and Engineering during discovery and launch planning; deliver executive-level readouts connecting results to business decisions.
• Influence Product Development Lifecycle — partner with Product Managers from discovery through launch and post-launch optimization; define measurement plans, success metrics, tracking requirements, and KPI frameworks for strategic initiatives.
• Lead Complex Investigations and Performance Analysis — conduct deep-dive analyses into customer behavior, marketplace dynamics, and product performance; serve as the escalation point for complex data investigations, quantifying impact and recommending corrective actions.
• Act as a subject matter expert on Engine's product and data ecosystem, driving cross-functional investigations involving Product, Engineering, Commercial, and Operations teams.
About You
Education

• 6+ years of experience in Product Analytics, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Data Science, Consulting, or related analytical roles.
• Demonstrated experience supporting product organizations within fintech, marketplace, SaaS, technology, or data-driven environments.
• Extensive experience partnering directly with Product Management, Engineering, and senior business stakeholders.
Skills
• Advanced expertise in SQL and working with large-scale data environments.
• Strong understanding of product analytics, customer journey analysis, funnel optimization, and KPI development.
• Deep knowledge of experimentation methodologies, statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and causal inference.
• Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership and executive audiences.
• Preferred: experience with modern data platforms/tooling (Snowflake, dbt, Looker, Amplitude or similar), and Python, R, or advanced statistical modeling.

Compensation
The annual base salary for this position is expected to be between 157,500 K – 180,000K USD plus bonus. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for an annual performance-based bonus. Base salary is one component of Gen's total compensation package, which includes annual bonus.
