You’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, and company leadership to shape not only how our products look and feel, but how we discover opportunities, validate ideas, and build products users love.Together we'll be shaping what the future of health interfaces look like. Enabling clinicians to focus on giving care rather than computers and enabling patients to understand and navigate their care journey. This role is about setting a high bar for product design, developing our designers, improving our systems and workflows, and helping define what exceptional AI-native product design should look like. This is a role for someone with exceptional product design judgment, a strong track record of shipping meaningful products, and the ability to help others raise their game. You’ll represent design at the leadership level while remaining close enough to the work to contribute when needed.We’re a fast-moving team that values momentum, ownership, and iteration. This role is a great fit for someone who cares deeply about product quality, thrives in ambiguity, and wants to shape the future of design in an AI-first environment.This is not a traditional management role focused on org charts and large teams. We’re still early, and the design team is currently small. Instead, this role is about setting a high bar for product design, developing our designers, improving our systems and workflows, and helping define what exceptional AI-native product design should look like.What You Will DoLead and evolve the overall design craft at TandemMentor and develop product designers through feedback, collaboration, and coachingRepresent the design function in leadership discussions and help shape company-wide product decisionsWork closely with Product and Engineering leadership to shape product principles, direction and executionEstablish and improve product discovery practices, including research, prototyping, validation, and user feedback loopsContribute hands-on to product and interaction design when neededHelp define how AI can improve both the user experience and the design process itselfRaise the bar for usability, product thinking, consistency, and visual quality across the companyImprove how design collaborates with engineering and product teamsCreate clarity and alignment, adding momentum around design decisions in a fast-moving environmentWhat You BringSignificant experience designing digital products with strong product and user intuitionExceptional attention to detail and a high bar for product qualityExperience leading or mentoring designers, formally or informallyA track record of personally driving meaningful product work from discovery through deliveryDeep experience running user research, testing, prototyping, and validation as core parts of the product development processStrong systems thinking and experience improving design workflows and team effectivenessComfort working closely with engineers and understanding technical constraintsAbility to balance strategic thinking with hands-on executionStrong communication skills and ability to give thoughtful, actionable feedbackExperience operating in fast-moving environments with evolving...
