The Senior Director, Enterprise Digital Technology (EDT) Business Partner for Human Resources is a leadership role accountable for defining, operationalizing and governing the multi-year digital and technology strategy and roadmap across Human Resources.  This leader will serve as the principal strategic technology advisor to CHRO, HR leadership teams, and global EDT leadership to ensure technology investments enable business growth, strengthen competitive advantage, and deliver value to the business.

S/he will shape a cohesive, forward-looking EDT strategy aligned to functional and enterprise priorities.  They will collaborate cross-functionally to identify strategic areas of opportunity to simplify, standardize, and innovate across the functional EDT landscape.  They will champion thought leadership and innovation within the functional technology landscape, including ensuring EDP programs, platforms, and services are harmonized, scalable, compliant, and position to meet the evolving needs of our high-growth organization.

Success in this role requires the ability to:

  • Define and drive a multi-year EDT strategy and roadmap aligned to functional and enterprise priorities.

  • Jointly own the end-to-end function strategy with business functional leads to develop 1A customer journeys and roadmap.

  • Create and articulate a clear, compelling vision from complex business needs.

  • Build trusted executive relationships and serve as a strategic advisor and advocate for technology’s role in business success.

  • Deliver measurable EDT value with strong business outcomes and stakeholder satisfaction.

Strategic Leadership and Vision

  • Set and continuously refine multi-year EDT strategy and roadmap for the function, ensuring alignment with functional priorities, global EDT standards, and future-state technology direction.

  • Apply thought leadership to identify emerging technologies and digital capabilities that unlock strategic value, efficiency, and new business models.

  • Lead function strategy, both with HR and with EDT peer functions, to ensure global alignment, consistency, and enterprise harmonization.

Executive Engagement

  • Serve as the senior liaison between EDT and HR executive leadership, ensuring shared understanding of goals, priorities, challenges, and opportunities.

  • Build and maintain influential relationships with presidents, functional leaders, and EDT leadership.

  • Interpret complex business requirements and strategic drivers and translate them into actionable EDT strategies.

Intake Management, Planning & Innovation

  • Lead the ideation and intake process for future-state portfolio planning, ensuring opportunities are clearly defined, evaluated, and aligned to function needs.

  • Guide prioritization decisions by balancing functional needs, global EDT capacity, architectural standards, financial parameters, and enterprise best practices.

  • Foster a culture of simplification and digital innovation.

Portfolio Governance, Value Management & Investment Prioritization

  • Own the end-to-end business case lifecycle, including shaping opportunities, risk and financial validation, and value realization tracking.

  • Lead functional portfolio governance in partnership with the EDT PMO, ensuring initiatives are prioritized based on strategic impact, readiness, budget, risk, and value contribution.

  • Ensure ongoing measurement of KPIs, benefits realization, and alignment to enterprise standards.

Leadership & Organizational Capability Building

  • Directly and indirectly lead and develop high-performing cross-functional teams ensuring strong collaboration and delivery accountability.

  • Inspire teams during transformation, enabling them to operate effectively in a highly matrixed, global service model.

  • Strengthen the EDT brand and collaborative culture through coaching and aligning EDT capabilities to strategic needs.

  • Partner with functional EDT teams including application development, enterprise architecture, PMO, delivery, and governance teams to ensure aligned solutions, harmonized portfolios, and compliant delivery.

Education & special trainings:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or a related field required. Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. A master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or a related field is preferred.

Qualifications & experience:

  • 15+ years of experience in business, digital and/or technology strategy, and IT leadership, with extensive experience leading large-scale transformation.

  • 6+ years leading high-performing teams in a matrixed, global environment.

  • Technology roadmap and product development expertise, having managed multiple large-scale roadmapts or product portfolios in an agile or similar environment.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the current and future technology direction of the industry and ability to align strategies with shifting landscapes. 

  • Deep knowledge of functional needs and products, as well as relevant technology journeys.

  • Demonstrated success driving strategic technology portfolios and partnering with executive leadership, including C-suite leaders.

  • Deep experience with modern architecture and enterprise service models.

  • Experience building mechanisms to ensure that architecture and harmonization principles are well socialized and followed in harmonizing portfolios.

  • Experience helping a business to transform its business and systems (major project, big picture).

  • Knowledge of regulated application landscape in life sciences and current platforms and technologies.

United States of America Pay Ranges:

  • USN: $179,100 - $298,500 USD Annual

  

 

Travel Percentage: 30%
