Mechanical Project Engineer
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join Downer's Energy & Utilities team delivering a major greenfield water infrastructure project at Logan City, QLD. This is a permanent full-time position supporting the successful delivery of a significant state funded project that will play a key role in supporting future community growth.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will provide technical expertise, guidance and support across all phases of project delivery. Working closely with project teams, subcontractors and stakeholders, you will help drive safe, efficient and high-quality project outcomes while ensuring cost, schedule and client requirements are achieved.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing technical advice and support to project delivery teams
- Supporting and mentoring Site Engineers and project personnel
- Managing subcontractor performance, progress claims and variations
- Assisting with procurement activities, scope development and subcontract management
- Monitoring project budgets, forecasting and financial performance
- Supporting constructability reviews, value engineering and design coordination
- Driving quality outcomes and ensuring compliance with environmental, community and client requirements
What We Are Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Engineering qualification
- Project Engineering experience within the water or wastewater industry
- Experience managing subcontractors and supplier relationships
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated experience developing scopes of work and subcontract agreements
- Strong financial management, budgeting and reporting capability
- Experience developing and managing project schedules
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Sound computer and reporting skills
You will also demonstrate strong accountability a collaborative leadership style and a commitment to safety quality and customer outcomes.
