Senior Analyst, Stewardship
The Specialist, Product Stewardship in LATM region supports both testing services and standards setting across apparel, accessories, footwear, and equipment product categories. The role coordinates material and product testing, ensures applicants complete required electronic Test Request Forms (eTRF) accurately and on time, and works with assigned in-house certified laboratories and nominated third-party laboratories to complete testing and upload results to the testing platform. The Specialist reviews test reports, supports corrective actions and retest approvals, and issues test report dispositions to support shipment decisions for materials and finished products. The role also supports the development, maintenance, implementation, and communication of performance standards and related testing requirements, helps update brand testing manuals, processes, DACI, and SOPs, and supports stakeholder training to drive consistent execution and continuous improvement.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Testing Request, eTRF, and Laboratory Coordination
- Verify and track testing requests for materials and finished products in the testing platform.
- Ensure applicants complete required eTRFs accurately and on time and that requests are complete before routing to assigned laboratories.
- Coordinate with in-house certified laboratories and nominated third-party laboratories to support timely testing completion and complete upload of results.
- Maintain accurate testing records and follow up on missing information, delayed reports, and basic report issues in line with standard procedures.
- Support CPSC eFiling for applicable products by serving as the control and verification point, checking system status, training vendors on the eFiling process, and supporting vendors to complete eFiling accurately and on time.
- Test Report Review, Corrective Actions, and Disposition Support
- Review test reports for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with applicable testing requirements and standards.
- Identify exceptions and failures, support corrective action and retest review using established guidelines, and escalate non-routine or unresolved issues as needed.
- Issue and communicate test report dispositions to support shipment decisions and maintain complete documentation for traceability and review.
- Standards Setting and Manual Support
- Support the development, maintenance, and updating of performance standards, testing requirements, and supporting guidance documents.
- Gather and organize testing data, trends, recurring issues, and stakeholder feedback to support updates to standards and brand testing manuals.
- Support communication and implementation of approved standards changes using established processes and guidance.
- Training, Process, and Governance Support
- Support training and education for internal stakeholders and external partners on testing requirements, performance standards, platform use, and related workflows.
- Help prepare and update training materials, user guidance, and reference documents related to standards, testing, retests, and platform processes.
- Support the review, update, and maintenance of end-to-end processes, DACI, and SOPs, and assist with laboratory program or proficiency testing activities as assigned.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)
- Accuracy and timeliness of eTRF completion, testing request setup, and testing record maintenance.
- On-time completion of testing requests, report uploads, and turnaround time for report review and disposition.
- Timeliness and accuracy of CPSC eFiling completion for applicable products, including vendor support and issue resolution.
- Timeliness and quality of corrective action closure, retest support, and shipment support decisions.
- Timeliness and accuracy of performance standards, guidance, and brand manual updates supported by the role.
- Training coverage and stakeholder adoption of testing requirements, standards, and platform processes.
- Quality of testing data, trend insights, and process documentation provided to support continuous improvement.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Technical and Professional Expertise
- Working knowledge of material and product testing, performance standards, and laboratory practices gained through education and/or relevant experience.
- Understanding of product stewardship, product safety, regulatory compliance, and workflows related to testing requests, report review, corrective actions, dispositions, and standards implementation.
- Ability to organize technical information and translate requirements into clear guidance, training support materials, and practical stakeholder communication.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
Analytical and Problem-Solving
- Addresses recurring issues through fact finding, clarification, and basic analysis within established standards, procedures, and guidance.
- Determines appropriate actions based on defined processes and established guidelines, and escalates non-routine issues when needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Material Science, Textiles, Product Compliance, or a related field.
- Equivalent experience in a substantially similar industry may be considered in lieu of a degree, based on the requirements of the role and hiring manager criteria.
- One to two years of relevant experience in material or product testing, standards setting support, quality, product stewardship, regulatory compliance, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience working with brands, vendors, factories, material suppliers, or laboratories is preferred.
