Life at UiPath
The people at UiPath believe in the transformative power of automation to change how the world works. We’re committed to creating category-leading enterprise software that unleashes that power.
To make that happen, we need people who are curious, self-propelled, generous, and genuine. People who love being part of a fast-moving, fast-thinking growth company. And people who care—about each other, about UiPath, and about our larger purpose.
Could that be you?
Senior Software Engineer – Intelligent Document Processing & Context Grounding
Build the AI-powered platform behind the next generation of enterprise automation.
At UiPath, we're building the future of enterprise AI. Our Intelligent Document Processing and Context Grounding platform enables AI agents to understand enterprise knowledge, retrieve the right information, and deliver accurate, trustworthy outcomes at scale.
We're looking for exceptional software engineers who enjoy solving difficult engineering problems and shipping production software. If you're passionate about building distributed systems, modern cloud platforms, and AI-powered applications that customers rely on every day, we'd love to talk.
This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll work alongside experienced engineers to design, build, and scale the services that power document understanding, retrieval, knowledge management, and AI agents across the UiPath platform.
What You'll Do
Build production software
Design, develop, and operate highly scalable backend services that power Intelligent Document Processing, Context Grounding, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) capabilities across UiPath's AI platform.
You'll contribute to systems responsible for:
Document ingestion
Parsing and extraction
Chunking and embeddings
Search and retrieval
Knowledge management
APIs
AI orchestration
Evaluation pipelines
Solve challenging distributed systems problems
Design and implement cloud-native services capable of processing large volumes of enterprise content while maintaining high availability, reliability, and performance.
You'll build software that must balance:
scalability
latency
security
observability
operational excellence
Build AI-powered products
Work with modern AI technologies including LLMs, retrieval systems, vector search, and document processing to deliver production capabilities—not research prototypes.
You'll help transform advances in AI into features that solve real customer problems.
Collaborate across disciplines
Partner closely with Product Managers, Applied Scientists, Designers, and fellow engineers to turn ideas into production software.
You'll participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, design reviews, and technical planning while helping improve engineering quality across the team.
Take ownership
Own features from design through production.
Successful engineers on this team are comfortable working through ambiguity, making thoughtful technical decisions, and delivering high-quality software that customers depend on.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for engineers who love building software.
Successful candidates will typically have:
6+ years of professional software engineering experience
Strong backend engineering experience building distributed systems
Production experience with Python and/or C#
Experience designing scalable APIs and microservices
Experience building cloud-native applications on Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP
Strong understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, networking, and software architecture
Experience with event-driven systems, messaging, caching, and databases
Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable:
Generative AI
Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
LLM-powered applications
Semantic search
Vector databases
Intelligent Document Processing
OCR
Search infrastructure
Knowledge management platforms
Technologies You May Work With
Python
C#
Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP
Docker
Kubernetes
REST APIs
Distributed systems
Event-driven architectures
Search platforms
Vector databases
LLMs
RAG
Azure OpenAI
Embeddings
Intelligent Document Processing
What Makes Someone Successful Here
The strongest engineers on this team are exceptional software engineers first.
They enjoy:
building production software
solving complex technical problems
learning new technologies
collaborating with teammates
taking ownership
communicating technical ideas clearly
shipping features that create measurable customer value
You don't need to be an AI researcher.
You do need to be excited about building AI-powered products that operate reliably at enterprise scale.
