We are looking for an experienced A&H Corporate Underwriter to join our team in Lisbon.
In this role, you will help drive profitable growth by underwriting new and renewal business, applying strong underwriting discipline, and building trusted relationships with brokers and producers across multiple territories. You will play a key role in supporting business development, managing multinational accounts where applicable, and contributing to the achievement of underwriting profit and regional financial goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite new and renewal A&H Corporate business, including Business Travel Accident, Group Personal Accident, ESB, and related products.
- Apply underwriting guidelines, controls, authorities, and reporting requirements consistently.
- Ensure service standards are met for policy documentation, quotation turnaround, and compliance.
- Support the achievement of underwriting profit targets and the regional financial plan.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key brokers and producers to generate new business and profitable growth.
- Promote Chubb’s A&H corporate offerings to existing and prospective brokers in the MM and MA markets.
- Develop and execute a targeted broker visit plan across the area of influence.
- Prepare and adapt sales materials to support market-specific promotion efforts.
- Collaborate with other lines of business to maximize cross-selling opportunities.
- Work closely with the Team Manager and contribute to a collaborative, high-performance environment.
- Travel regularly to meet brokers and support business development across different territories.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of underwriting experience, preferably in A&H Corporate lines such as Group Personal Accident, Business Travel, or Healthcare.
- Strong knowledge of the Portuguese insurance market and competitor landscape.
- Solid commercial and business development experience.
- Proven experience working with brokers and strong negotiation skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Professional fluency in English and Portuguese.
- Strong communication and commercial skills.
- Self-motivated, positive, dynamic, and sales-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work collaboratively and influence effectively in a team environment.
- High ethical standards and strong attention to compliance.
