About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

Our mission is to grow and promote Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) to enable everyone to thrive in their work and community by delivering an exciting and engaging EHS program that is recognized for its integrity, partnership, and care. Our organization is committed to protecting the physical, emotional, and mental health of our teams through proactive and engaging Safety Programs and services.

The Global EHS Operations program aims to provide a reliable, scalable, and effective EHS service that empowers all stakeholders to achieve a safe, sustainable work environment, regardless of geography or operational differences. Influence leaders to establish a healthy work environment. Ensure that Google infrastructure complies with all applicable health, safety, and environmental requirements.

This commitment extends to proactive and engaging safety programs and services, including Environmental Regulatory Compliance and Technical Due Diligence, Occupational Safety Regulatory Compliance, Occupational Health Regulatory Compliance, Contractor Management and EHS Performance Management, Incident Investigations, Design for Safety, Product Safety, New Product Introductions, Consensus Standards, and Assurance.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate operational EHS risks and analyse risk scenarios to determine potential business impact and design or lead programs to mitigate those risks.
  • Monitor EHS compliance at our data centres to ensure uninterrupted operations at all times, whilst providing site-level EHS support for the existing fleet and leadership within the region and globally for all EHS initiatives.
  • Contribute to large-scale global and regional EHS focus areas, while assisting in setting the strategy for your team.
  • Manage a team of EHS Program Managers (PgMs) to ensure the effective and efficient execution of Google EHS programs and projects across the region, support PgMs in incident investigations and track corrective or preventive actions to closure.
  • Monitor and track program performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective action plans and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
