The Associate Manager 2 (AM2) – AR Follow-Up is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Receivable (AR) Follow-Up function within the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) process. This role ensures timely resolution of outstanding claims, drives team performance, maintains client service levels, and identifies process improvement opportunities to maximize collections and reduce AR ageing. The incumbent will lead a team of AR professionals, ensure compliance with organizational standards, and support operational excellence through data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Management
    • Manage and oversee AR Follow-Up operations to ensure timely resolution of unpaid claims.
    • Monitor team productivity, quality, and collection performance against established goals and client expectations.
    • Ensure compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and quality standards.
    • Drive operational efficiency through effective resource utilization and process optimization.
    • Act as the first level of escalation for process-related, client-related, and people-related concerns.
  • People Management
    • Lead, coach, and mentor team members to achieve operational and developmental objectives.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews, feedback sessions, and coaching interventions.
    • Drive employee engagement and retention initiatives.
    • Manage attendance, scheduling, workforce planning, and shift adherence.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Performance & Process Excellence
    • Analyze operational data and performance metrics to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
    • Prepare and present performance reports, dashboards, and action plans to leadership.
    • Implement corrective and preventive actions to address operational challenges.
    • Support process improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, and financial outcomes.
    • Ensure adherence to aggressive operational metrics and client service-level commitment.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management
    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve escalations and improve process outcomes.
    • Ensure timely communication and execution of client requirements and expectations.
    • Participate in business reviews and operational meetings as required.
  • Required Skills & Competencies
    • Strong knowledge of US Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) and AR Follow-Up processes.
    • Good understanding of insurance claim adjudication, denials, appeals, and collections.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to interpret operational data and derive actionable insights.
    • Excellent people with management and leadership capabilities.
    • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Strong decision-making and conflict-resolution abilities.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, reporting tools, and performance dashboard.    
    • Strong focus on quality, productivity, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

Graduate in any discipline (mandatory).

Minimum 7–8 years of experience in US Healthcare RCM with substantial experience in AR Follow-Up.

Minimum 1-2 years of people management experience leading teams in an operational environment.

Proven experience in performance management, process improvement, and client-facing operations.
