Software Engineer - Adobe Builders Experience team
The Opportunity
Adobe Unified Platform is building the system that changes how software gets made at Adobe — a platform that understands builders' intent, breaks down complex work, executes it through autonomous agents, and improves with every cycle. What this team ships multiplies across thousands of Adobe engineers, and it's the substrate the rest of Adobe's agentic efforts build on.
The platform is model-independent by design, which means it has to integrate and operate a constantly changing set of models and partner capabilities cleanly and reliably. We are hiring a Software Engineer to build the integration layer that makes this possible — the connectors, abstractions, and evaluation tooling that let the platform adopt new models and partner services quickly and safely.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone early in their career who wants to work close to frontier models and grow fast on a team of senior engineers.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain the integrations that connect the platform to model providers and partner services — API clients, routing and fallback logic, and abstraction layers — across multiple domains and their dependencies.
- Own the test plan for the features you deliver, and debug issues across multiple modules and layers of the integration stack.
- Implement evaluation and benchmarking tooling that measures model quality, latency, cost, and reliability across real agentic workflows.
- Build the instrumentation and dashboards that give the team visibility into how models and partner capabilities perform in production.
- Apply DevOps and secure programming practices, and use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery while reviewing and validating AI-generated output.
- Investigate and resolve issues in integrations and model behavior, and harden the system against real-world failure modes.
- Contribute to the integration architecture and share knowledge with peers; mentor junior engineers as the team grows.
- Stay current on model APIs, agentic frameworks, and developer tooling, and apply what you learn to the work you deliver.
What you'll need to succeed
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a track record of shipping production code across multiple domains in a language such as Python, Go, or Java.
- Hands-on experience building API integrations and backend services, including third-party or cloud services, with the ability to debug across modules and layers.
- Working experience with LLM APIs, AI/ML systems, or agentic frameworks, and the ability to pick up and master new concepts quickly.
- Solid software engineering fundamentals: testing, observability, DevOps practices, and secure programming, with ownership of feature-level test plans.
- Proficiency in AI-assisted development, including reviewing and validating AI-generated code.
- A self-directed working style on general, unstructured assignments, and a practical, detail-oriented approach to reliability.
The ability to contribute effectively and share knowledge in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment.
