This role is open across Germany. We are looking for suitable profiles nationwide. 
Thanks to our flexible working models and project-based setup, you can be based anywhere in Germany. Travel requirements depend on client needs and project phases, not on proximity to a specific office location. 

As a Manager in our Core Banking Avaloq practice, you will take a leading role in steering and delivering complex core banking transformation, modernization, and digitalization initiatives for top-tier financial institutions in Germany. You will bridge the gap between business strategy, banking operations, and Avaloq technology solutions.
In addition to project delivery, you will actively drive Business Development (BD) and Client Development (CD) within the German banking sector by identifying new opportunities, shaping tailored pitches, and building long-term executive relationships. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior banking stakeholders and play a key role in leading high-performing teams and growing our core banking practice.

Job responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex, large-scale core banking transformation, system replacement, and digitalization programs for banking clients across all phases (sales, analysis/design, implementation, stabilization).
• Advise banks on operating model design, target architecture, process optimization, and parameterization/customization of the Avaloq core banking system.
• Drive growth initiatives within the German banking practice, including opportunity identification, pitch preparation, proposal writing, and client acquisition.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders and executives, building resilient, long-term relationships within the German financial sector.
• Manage, mentor, and inspire project teams, fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment while guiding functional and technical Avaloq consultants.
• Translate complex business, regulatory, and technical requirements into actionable target operating models, functional specifications, and technology-enabled solutions.
• Contribute actively to the global and German Avaloq practice through thought leadership, internal assets, methodology development, and cross-office collaboration.

Job requirements

• Excellent STEM or Business/Economics degree (Master's) from a top university.
• 5–8+ years of professional experience in management consulting or within the financial services industry, focusing on core banking transformations.
• Hands-on experience with the Avaloq core banking platform
• Proven track record in target operating model design, digital banking transformations, core system implementations, upgrades, or migrations.
• Established network and deep domain understanding of the German banking landscape, regulatory environment, and market dynamics.
• Proven history of successfully winning new business (pitches, proposals) and delivering high-quality project outcomes on time and within scope.
• Strong grasp of banking IT landscapes, parameterization concepts, database/Unix environments, and emerging technologies (AI, data integration, APIs).
• Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills in German and English (both fluent), with willingness to travel regularly according to client and project requirements.
