The Payroll Specialist will manage payroll operations for multiple countries across Asia and/or EMEA, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with local regulations and company policies. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills, experience working with payroll systems, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Process payroll for assigned countries, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with established payroll procedures.
  • Validate payroll inputs, including earnings, deductions, taxes, benefits, and other payroll-related transactions.
  • Coordinate with HR, Finance, employees, and external payroll vendors to resolve payroll queries, discrepancies, and issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws, statutory requirements, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and prepare reports to support audits, reconciliations, and management reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on payroll system implementations, integrations, process improvements, and automation initiatives.
  • Support off-cycle payroll processing, year-end payroll activities, statutory reporting, and tax filings as required.
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, and service delivery standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 1 to 2 years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a regional or multi-country payroll environment.
  • Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g., Workday, payroll service provider platforms) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with payroll legislation, statutory requirements, and employment-related regulations across Asia and/or EMEA countries.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin and/or Thai would be an added advantage to support regional payroll operations and stakeholder collaboration.
