We are seeking a skilled VMware Automation Engineer with expertise in VMware Aria Automation (vRA) and VMware Aria Automation Orchestrator (vRO) to design, develop, and maintain enterprise automation solutions. In this role, you will automate infrastructure provisioning, orchestrate operational workflows, and build reusable automation frameworks that improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability across virtualized environments.
You will work closely with infrastructure, cloud, and platform engineering teams to streamline IT operations, automate service delivery, and support the complete infrastructure lifecycle through robust automation practices.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement automation solutions using VMware Aria Automation (vRA) and VMware Aria Automation Orchestrator (vRO).
- Develop and maintain integrations between vRA and vRO to support Day 0 (provisioning), Day 1 (configuration), and Day 2 (operations) automation use cases.
- Create reusable automation blueprints, orchestration workflows, templates, and automation frameworks for enterprise infrastructure.
- Determine the appropriate use of vRA workflows versus vRO workflows based on lifecycle requirements, complexity, and operational needs.
- Manage and maintain version compatibility across VMware Aria Automation, Aria Automation Orchestrator, vCenter, and related VMware ecosystem components.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and operational processes to improve consistency and reduce manual effort.
- Integrate automation workflows with enterprise IT systems, APIs, and infrastructure services.
- Troubleshoot automation workflows, optimize performance, and resolve deployment or orchestration issues.
- Collaborate with platform, infrastructure, and cloud engineering teams to define automation standards and best practices.
- Maintain technical documentation for automation workflows, blueprints, and operational procedures.
Requirements
Must-Have Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with VMware Aria Automation Orchestrator (vRO).
- Experience developing automation workflows using VMware Aria Automation (vRA).
- Expertise in designing reusable automation blueprints and orchestration workflows.
- Strong understanding of Day 0, Day 1, and Day 2 automation lifecycle management.
- Experience integrating vRA with vRO for end-to-end infrastructure automation.
- Knowledge of VMware vCenter administration and automation.
- Understanding of infrastructure provisioning, orchestration, and virtualized environments.
- Experience troubleshooting and optimizing VMware automation workflows.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience with VMware Aria Automation (vRA).
- Knowledge of VMware vCenter administration.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, PowerCLI, or scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and automation best practices.
- Exposure to cloud platforms and hybrid cloud automation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of experience in VMware infrastructure, automation, platform engineering, or cloud infrastructure.
- Experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale VMware automation solutions.
- VMware certifications related to Aria Automation, vSphere, or cloud infrastructure are a plus.
