Role - Project Engineer - IBMS, Mumbai (1-Year Contract Role)

Johnson Controls delivers innovative building technologies that support smarter, healthier, and more sustainable environments. In this role, you will support project execution and project management activities for IBMS delivery in Mumbai, with hands-on involvement in IBMS, CCTV, and ACS.

This is a one-year contractual opportunity, renewable annually based on performance. It is well suited to candidates with a strong background in project execution or project management and practical experience in IBMS site delivery.

Role Overview

As a Project Engineer, you will help drive the execution of IBMS projects from planning through site delivery, coordination, testing, and handover. You will work closely with internal teams, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to help ensure work is delivered safely, on time, and to the expected technical and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end execution of IBMS projects, including CCTV and ACS systems.
• Coordinate with project managers, site teams, contractors, vendors, and clients to support smooth project delivery.
• Monitor site progress against project plans, timelines, and execution requirements.
• Review technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions to support installation readiness and site execution.
• Track material availability, site requirements, and execution dependencies to help avoid delays.
• Support installation, testing, commissioning, and handover activities for IBMS systems.
• Raise and follow up on site issues, technical concerns, and coordination gaps in a timely manner.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, progress updates, and handover records.
• Support quality checks and help ensure work is completed in line with project and safety expectations.

How You Will Do It

• Stay close to the site execution work and understand what is needed to keep IBMS delivery moving forward.
• Own tasks and follow-ups with accountability, integrity, and a clear focus on delivering the right outcome.
• Use practical problem-solving and candid communication to remove obstacles and improve execution every day.
• Work as one team with project management, engineering, vendors, and site stakeholders, building trust through collaboration and shared standards.
• Keep documentation, progress tracking, and coordination updates accurate so that work remains visible and controllable.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• Background in project execution or project management within IBMS projects.
• Hands-on experience in IBMS, CCTV, and ACS.
• Experience supporting site-based project delivery, installation, testing, commissioning, or handover activities.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and site documentation.
• Strong coordination, communication, and follow-up skills.
• Good problem-solving mindset with attention to quality and execution detail.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to large-scale commercial, infrastructure, or facility-related projects.
• Experience coordinating with multiple contractors and vendors on active project sites.
• Additional exposure to integrated building systems or ELV project environments.
