Role Overview

In this field-based role, you will inspect, test, service, and perform preventative maintenance on Simplex Fire Alarm Systems and similar competitive product lines. You will help protect customers by keeping life safety systems operating reliably, documenting work accurately, and completing inspections on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on Simplex Fire Alarm Systems and similar competitive manufacturers' product lines.
  • Work with low voltage wiring and associated devices required for the operation of low voltage equipment.
  • Complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding using laptop computers and/or hard copy documentation.
  • Follow and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule.
  • Input, retrieve, and archive inspection documents through a mobile device.
  • Complete assigned inspections on time and perform other duties as assigned.

How You Will Do It

  • Take ownership of each inspection, work safely, and maintain a professional, customer-focused presence in the field.
  • Stay close to the work by following the inspection schedule carefully and removing obstacles that could delay completion.
  • Use troubleshooting skills, hand tools, and a multimeter to identify issues and perform small repairs when needed.
  • Document service acknowledgements and inspection records accurately using laptop and mobile devices.
  • Learn quickly, apply coaching, and look for practical ways to improve your work every day.
  • Work collaboratively with coworkers and customers to deliver a consistent, reliable service experience.

Qualifications

  • Documented experience in low voltage electrical systems and Fire and/or Security Systems experience.
  • Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company requirements.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of the Inspector Entrée Course (Electrical or Sprinkler).
  • Ability to achieve NICET Level I certification after 1 year on the job.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for troubleshooting systems.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Ability to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, including climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, and working within ducts, crawl spaces, and above ceilings.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including on occasion.
  • High level of customer service.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Self-starter who can work with supervision.
  • Ability to adhere to safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
  • Strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to learn quickly.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with hand tools and multimeter usage.
  • 1-3 years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems.
  • NICET certification.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $22.12-33.17 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
