Who we are looking for:
The Lube and Tire Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks on vehicles, primarily focusing on oil changes and tire services. They are skilled in inspecting and replacing oil filters, lubricating various vehicle components, and rotating and replacing tires. These technicians ensure that vehicles are properly maintained and in optimal condition for safe and efficient operation. They may also assist with other basic automotive repairs and provide exceptional customer service to vehicle owners.
What you will do:
- Perform auto maintenance and entry-level mechanical tech duties, including (but not limited to):
- Oil and filter change,
- Fuel filter changes,
- Transmission flush,
- Battery replacement
- Tire maintenance (mounting, dismounting, air pressure, tread depth)
- Vehicle inspection, and
- Brake & electrical inspection/system checks.
- Inspects Vehicle Frame for damage and modifications
- Serve as an entry-level auto tech performing light duty maintenance while gaining familiarity with auto maintenance concepts and practices.
- Ensure vehicles are operational for staging, imaging, and sale day by coordinating with reconditioning, operations, and inventory staff on repair needs, prioritizing work to meet auction timelines and consignor expectations, and documenting repairs while communicating vehicle status updates as needed.
- Comply with regulations regarding recyclables, fluids, tires and disposable trash.
- Utilize approved vendors to obtain parts needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
What you will need:
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Previous automotive technician, mechanic, or body/frame experience preferred.
- Experience with light frame straightening or structural adjustment equipment is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of automotive mechanical systems.
- Ability to diagnose simple mechanical issues and perform minor repairs.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be qualified to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must have a demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Must have the ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work around vehicles for extended periods.
- Ability to safely operate shop equipment and tools.
- Work performed in shop and outdoor lot environments.
- Exposure to weather conditions, vehicle exhaust, and shop equipment.
- Fast-paced environment leading up to auction sale days.
