Where You’ll Work

CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson, part of CommonSpirit Heath, a national nonprofit health system based in Englewood, Colorado. The faith-based system operates in 18 states and includes 103 hospitals. Additional services offered within the system are: long-term care, assisted and residential living communities, community health services organizations, home health agencies, and numerous outpatient facilities.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

Performs and reports waivbed, moderately complex, and high complexdd testprocedures on patient specimens adhering to the Section’s Standard OperatingProcedures to ensure accurate and timely reporting. Provides excellent patientcare through clinical correlation of results, identifdication of patterns of bias,rapid notification of appropriate caregivers of critical values, and completion oftesting within established turn-around-time limits. Ensures that majorautomated equipment is operational by performing required maintenance,calibration and troubleshooting procedures; including contacting of instrumentvendor for assistance or repair. Performs required calibration and qualitycontrol procedures and maintains records to ensure tests are being performedwithin established parameters. Performs proficiency testing as assigned andreview results with laboratory clinical leaders. Assists in evaluation andgeneration of compliant documentation for the validation of new proceduresand equipment to provide the physician with the most current laboratorytechnology. Participates in opportunities for continuing education and/orteaching, training according to the Section Performance Standards to enhancetechnical skills of students, trainees, coworkers, and self. Responsible forinventory of supplies, including providing assistance with monitoring supplies,ordering, and placing received supplies into storage. Completes all work andresolves or appropriately passes ongoing issues to incoming staff within thescheduled shift. As a representative of CommonSpirit Health, utilizesprofessionalism and HumanKindness while communicating with physicians,hospital staff, patients, coworkers, other stakeholders in laboratory operations,and all members of the general public, whether in email, instant messaging,telephone, or face-to-face interactions. Adheres to all regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements

Requires Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Biological or Chemical Science, or related. Also requires current Medical Technologist license issued by the North Dakota Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice.

 

The salary for this position is from $34.92 per hour. This amount meets orexceeds the prevailing wage as determined by the U. S. Department of Labor.
