Director, Channel Strategy, EUCAN & International
At AstraZeneca, through Customer 2030 we are reimagining how customers discover, experience, and engage with our brands across an increasingly connected and AI-influenced landscape. We are seeking a Director, Channel Strategy, EUCAN (Europe + Canada) & International to help shape the future of integrated channel strategy across priority markets.
This is a strategic role for someone who can look across the full channel ecosystem and translate business priorities into clear, connected recommendations. Rather than focusing on a single channel, this role is responsible for shaping how media, web, content, search, and emerging AI-enabled discovery environments (GEO) work together to drive stronger customer experiences and measurable business outcomes.
As part of our broader AI for Commercial organization, you will partner across regional and market teams to create scalable frameworks, guide investment decisions, and strengthen AstraZeneca’s ability to deliver integrated, customer-centered engagement across EUCAN and International regions.
This role sits within the AI for Commercial organization and will work closely with regional and market commercial teams across EUCAN and International, as well as brand teams, customer experience leaders, analytics and marketing sciences, media and agency partners, web and content teams, and medical/regulatory stakeholders.
Your Accountabilities
- Lead integrated channel strategy across EUCAN and International markets, creating frameworks and recommendations that connect paid, owned, earned, and emerging digital channels in support of business objectives as part of our Customer 2030 initiative
- Shape omnichannel planning approaches that help brands and markets move from channel-specific decision-making to more connected, customer journey-based planning.
- Partner across cross-functional teams, including regional and market stakeholders, brand teams, analytics, media, web, content, and customer experience leaders, to align channel strategy with portfolio and brand priorities.
- Provide strategic guidance on how AstraZeneca’s digital presence should evolve in response to changing customer behavior, AI-powered discovery, search evolution, and the growing importance of trusted, authoritative, and well-structured content.
- Establish standards, playbooks, and governance principles that improve the consistency, quality, and scalability of channel planning across markets with varying levels of digital maturity.
- Support strategic planning and investment decisions by advising on channel mix, prioritization, and budget allocation based on customer needs, market dynamics, and business goals.
- Define measurement frameworks and KPIs in partnership with analytics and marketing sciences teams to assess the impact of integrated channel strategy and enable data-driven optimization.
- Identify innovation opportunities across the evolving channel landscape, including media models, digital experiences, content distribution approaches, and AI-enabled engagement capabilities.
- Work across internal teams and agency partners to improve operating models, align objectives, and strengthen integrated execution across initiatives with a channel component.
- Drive knowledge sharing and capability building by promoting best practices and helping raise channel strategy maturity across regions and markets.
Essential Requirements

- Significant experience in channel strategy, paid media, web, customer engagement, or related disciplines

- Demonstrated experience translating complex business and customer needs into clear, integrated strategic recommendations
- Strong background in measurement and performance evaluation, including KPI development, optimization approaches, and use of data to guide decisions
