Roles & Responsibilities:
The job includes research in healthy human donors and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) patients and murine models using single-cell multi-omics techniques for Judy H. Cho’s lab (https://labs.icahn.mssm.edu/cholab/) at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. This Postdoctoral position will lead independent projects to investigate the pathogenesis of IBD in humans, identify novel biomarkers of treatment response and provide potential therapeutic opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and implement research studies
- Collect and analyze data; perform quality control, interpret, summarize results
- Master prior literature and place findings in appropriate scientific context. Publish results in peer-review journals.
- Collaborate with other researchers in the lab to improve the efficiency of research.
Requirements:
- PhD in bioinformatics/computational biologist, or related majors
- Proficient with statistical programming languages (R, RStudio)
- Proficient with python/shell/other scripting languages
- Use of high-performance computing (HPC) cluster environment
- Strong research experience in analysis of large-scale genomic datasets (single-cell RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, etc)
- Self-motivated and highly dedicated
- Effective written and oral communication skills
