Assistant Vice President, Prime Brokerage Settlement Manager

Citi is looking for an experienced Prime Brokerage Settlement Manager to join its Markets Operations team in Hong Kong, playing a key role in the clearance, settlement, and investigation of client securities and derivatives transactions. In this position, you will act as a subject matter expert within a high-volume back-office environment, delivering operational excellence across prime brokerage settlement activities that directly support trading desks and institutional clients. This is an opportunity to take on meaningful ownership within a globally connected team, contributing to the integrity and efficiency of Citi's securities processing operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end prime brokerage settlement processes, ensuring the timely and accurate clearance of client securities and derivatives transactions across APAC markets.
• Resolve complex settlement and securities processing issues by applying in-depth knowledge of industry standards and operational procedures.
• Coordinate and oversee evening shift operations supporting later APAC markets, including India and China, and manage end-of-day tasks in a supervisory capacity.
• Execute a range of hedge fund operations, including net asset value calculation, cash and holdings reconciliation, securities pricing, and the preparation of unaudited financial statements.
• Lead the onboarding and set-up of new hedge funds, serving as the procedural and analytical expert for the securities processing team.
• Provide day-to-day guidance to junior team members, supporting their development and ensuring consistent delivery standards across the team.
• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline securities processing and hedge fund administration activities, contributing to operational efficiency gains.
• Monitor and escalate control issues with transparency, ensuring all activities comply with applicable regulations, firm policies, and risk management standards.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 10 or more years of relevant experience in securities operations, prime brokerage settlement, or a related back-office financial services function.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and verbal formats, including when engaging with stakeholders across functions and seniority levels.
• Experience leading or supervising medium to large teams within high-volume, fast-paced operational environments.
• Bachelor's degree or university-level qualification, or equivalent professional experience.
• Ability to cover rotational shifts, including morning shifts and holiday periods, as required by the business.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

• Formal qualification or applied experience in Project Management, supporting process redesign or operational improvement initiatives.
• Background in Data Analytics, with the ability to interpret and present operational data to drive informed decision-making.
• Familiarity with hedge fund administration, including NAV calculation, investor allocations, and expense budget analysis.
