Role: Business Analyst – Investment Management
Role Summary
State Street Investment Management is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support investment management data, analytics, reporting, and transformation initiatives. The role involves close collaboration with investment teams, business stakeholders, and technology partners to deliver high-quality solutions across investment operations, reporting, data management, and analytics.
Experience or exposure to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), Sustainability, Responsible Investing, or Regulatory Reporting initiatives are preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements across investment management functions, including portfolio analytics, performance, risk, ESG, and reporting.
- Perform SQL-based data analysis to support reporting, data validation, issue investigation, and business decision-making.
- Work with business and technology teams to translate requirements into functional specifications, data mappings, and solution designs.
- Define business rules, data lineage, validation controls, and reconciliation processes.
- Support implementation, testing, and stakeholder sign-off activities.
- Prepare clear documentation, process flows, and user guides for business and technical audiences.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve data quality, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Support regulatory, client, management, and ESG reporting initiatives as required.
Required Experience
- 7–9 years of experience as a Business Analyst within Investment Management, Asset Management, Wealth Management, or Financial Services.
- Strong understanding of investment data, reporting, and analytics processes.
- Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments and delivering business and technology transformation initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with business stakeholders, data teams, and technology partners.
Must-Have Skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Understanding of investment management products and asset classes, including:
- Equities
- Fixed Income
- Derivatives
- Alternatives
- Cash & Multi-Asset Investments
- Knowledge of investment vehicles and fund structures, including:
- Mutual Funds
- ETFs
- Segregated Mandates
- Commingled Funds
- Strong hands-on experience with SQL for data analysis and validation.
- Experience documenting business requirements, data mappings, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
Ability to analyze large data sets and identify data quality issues and business impacts.
