Japan Oncology Marketing Precision Medicine

Position Summary

The Japan Oncology Marketing Precision Medicine role will lead the development and execution of biomarker and diagnostic commercialization strategies. The role will ensure that biomarker strategy is integrated into indication strategy and launch readiness. The successful candidate will work closely with Japan and Global cross-functional teams and external diagnostic ecosystem stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy and planning

• Develop and execute precision medicine strategies aligned with oncology priorities to enable successful indication and product launches.
• Translate global precision medicine initiatives into effective local plans, coordinate with global teams to bring Japan insights into global planning, effectively secure support for Japan-specific needs.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate biomarker strategy into brand planning, launch readiness, and pipeline commercialization.

Cross-functional leadership and execution

• Serve as the commercial point of integration between Oncology Marketing and cross-functional teams for precision medicine topics, including partnering with Development, Market Access, Regulatory teams.
• Lead agency and vendor workstreams for approved promotional and educational materials, including field resources, FAQs, congress materials, and digital assets.

Diagnostic ecosystem and external stakeholder insight

• Build a robust understanding of Japan market dynamics through KOL engagement, congresses, market research, and secondary data to inform biomarker strategies and tactics.
• Partner appropriately with external diagnostic, laboratory, pathology, and scientific stakeholders maintaining adherence to compliance policies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; degree in life sciences, pharmacy, medicine, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in diagnostics, oncology marketing, or healthcare industries.
• Strong understanding of Japan oncology precision medicine market dynamics including testing pathways, biomarkers, companion and complementary diagnostics.
• Strong communication, analytical thinking, strategy development, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Business-level English and Japanese communication.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree such as MSc, MBA, PharmD, PhD, or MD.
• 7+ years of experience in diagnostics, oncology marketing, or healthcare industry.
• Experience working with global or regional teams in a matrix environment.
