Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical and operational leadership during assigned shifts, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care in a fast-paced urgent care and emergency services environment.
  • Coordinate patient flow, staffing, and daily operations to support exceptional patient experiences and achievement of key performance goals.
  • Lead shift huddles, communicate operational priorities, and promote continuous improvement initiatives that enhance workflow, quality, and team performance.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to nursing staff, fostering teamwork, accountability, and professional development.
  • Collaborate closely with providers, leadership, and multidisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care delivery.
  • Monitor patient volumes and department activity, proactively adjusting assignments and resources to optimize throughput and operational efficiency.
  • Support quality, safety, and regulatory compliance activities, including daily operational checks, medication security procedures, and emergency preparedness readiness.
  • Address patient concerns and follow-up needs promptly, helping to ensure a positive care experience and service recovery when needed.
  • Maintain clear communication with providers, staff, security personnel, and leadership to ensure operational awareness and effective decision-making.
  • Promote a culture of compassion, safety, accountability, and continuous improvement while modeling PRESNow's mission and values.
  • Assist with staff performance concerns and communicate operational or behavioral issues to leadership as appropriate.
  • Perform direct patient care duties as needed and other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing

  • State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License

  • 1 year of nursing experience required

  • 1 year of emergency department or 18 months of ICU experience preferred

  • BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire

  • ACLS & PALS required
