How you’ll make an impact in this role

  • Drive Data-Driven Surgical Operations: Oversee all volume metrics and clinical numbers for the Pediatric Surgery department, using data analytics to predict volume trends, optimize OR utilization, and guide strategic forecasting.

  • Lead and Mentor the Scheduling Team: Provide direct leadership, operational management, and performance oversight to the surgical scheduling team to ensure seamless patient booking and provider alignment.

  • Master Complex Data Extraction: Query and pull operational, clinical, and financial data directly from hospital applications and Electronic Health Records (Cerner).

  • Synthesize High-Impact Data Presentations: Translate complex surgical datasets into clean, executive-ready presentations and reports for hospital leadership and the surgical team.

  • Foster Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with pediatric surgeons, nursing leadership, and hospital executives to align business operations with clinical realities.

  • Command Office Technology Workflows: Leverage both Microsoft Office and Google Workspace suites to maintain departmental documentation, organize reporting templates, and streamline communication.


What minimum requirements you’ll need

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's
    degree/Bachelor's degree with 2 years of cumulative experience OR 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • 3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.

What additional preferences we're seeking

  • Analytical & Data-Driven Mindset: Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to dig into healthcare data, recognize patterns, and use numbers to solve operational bottlenecks.

  • Data Presentation & Communication Prowess: Highly professional presentation and communication skills, with a track record of clearly explaining data trends to clinical and executive stakeholders.

  • People Management Experience: Proven experience managing, coaching, and developing direct reports (experience managing healthcare schedulers or administrative staff is a major plus).

  • Healthcare Platform Agility: Functional experience navigating healthcare applications and hospital EHR systems; direct experience with Cerner is highly preferred.

  • Technical Suite Fluency: Advanced proficiency across both Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides).

  • Polished Professional Presence: A collaborative team player who maintains peak professionalism when interfacing with high-level surgical and medical teams.
