Legrand has an exciting opportunity for an Electrician III to join the Pass and Seymour Team in Concord, NC. The Electrician III installs, maintains, troubleshoots, modifies, and repairs a wide variety of complex automated production equipment and calibrates tools to adapt to the specific needs. Troubleshooting includes both electrical and mechanical issues. Function as group leader for areas, assuring uniform work flow and helping co-workers/other department as needed. 
 

What Will You Do?

• Must be able to wire electrically and troubleshoot circuits quickly utilizing control schematics, ladder diagrams, and point wiring without documentation to avoid shutdowns on equipment. 
• Must be able to add and modify control circuitry as required to facilitate improvements. 
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair related mechanical and pneumatic functions and controls as required to facilitate repairs and improvements. 
• Provide technical support and assistance to maximize yield. 
• Determine root causes of chronic failures and take steps to eliminate/alleviate.   
• Instruct and assist operators to assure quality and output requirements are met. 
• Generate and maintain records as required by specific processes.  Assist in defining process verification procedures. 
• Set-up and maintain as required MRO spare parts inventory requirements. 
• Perform and record preventive maintenance and equipment calibration as required. 
• Participate as a team member in product and/or process trouble-shooting processes as required to solve existing problems and as a means of providing cost improvement for the end product. 
• Keep supervisor informed in all areas effecting product quality and output. 
• Interface and work directly with other support personnel i.e. Set-up, Process, Product, Engineers.
• Equipment used:  All equipment used by Maintenance Technicians plus specialized electrical test, troubleshooting, and programming equipment such as VOM, Oscilloscope, programming terminals, and other supporting equipment as required. 
• Materials used:  All types of electrical and electromechanical control equipment including various PLC's, sensors, distributed control schemes, various input and output devices, analog and digital control devices, DC and stepper drives, various motion and motor controls, and other electrical and control equipment as required. 
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair related mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic functions and controls as required to facilitate repairs and improvements. 
• Other related duties as needed. 
• Total responsibility to eliminate non-conformance within quality of products. 

Education:    

• High school diploma required. Additional college and vocational courses preferred and may be required to broaden the individual's educational background.  
• Required to be able to read, write and perform basic math. Prefer high school degree or GED.  

 

Experience:  

• Minimum three months manufacturing experience.  Prefer fork-lift experience and data entry experience.  
• Required:  5 years maintenance experience in an injection molding environment  

 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:  

• Basic reading and writing skills in English

• Able to communicate effectively
• Able to lift to 40 lbs.  
• Able to work overtime when necessary

• Able to perform repetitive job functions; hand mobility, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
• Manual dexterity required for assembly and operating tools and machines.  
• Ability to safely operate moving equipment properly without risk to self, others and equipment.  
• Ability and applied knowledge of the material handler job description.  
• Basic electrical control trouble shooting  
• Use of a variety of precision measuring and electrical instruments  
• Hydraulic and pneumatic experience with injection molding machines  
• Welding experience  
• Operate forklift, skyjack and boom lift  
• Maintain and repair HVAC equipment  
• Maintain, repair and operate boiler and chilled water systems  
• Ensure preventative maintenance procedures are followed  
• Ability to interface and work directly with maintenance staff and other support groups  
• Wire electrically, size accordingly and plumb both air and steam by either verbal instructions or from a print  
• Ability to work overtime as needed

Certifications Required: Fork-lift Certification.
