JOB TITLE:
Enterprise Architect & Data Manager
JOB PURPOSE:
Provide strategic vision and operational leadership for data architecture, management and reporting to the University. Develop and implement a scalable and reliable data ecosystem to support current and future needs while working with campus stakeholders on standard data definitions, ownership, classification and literacy. Supervise and develop staff, oversee portfolios of technology initiatives, manage resources and budgets, and ensure the delivery of reliable, secure, and effective data and reporting services in alignment with strategic objectives.
This position has been deemed essential as addressed in the University of Wyoming’s Employee Handbook. Employees in essential positions may be required to work during emergency closures and winter closures based on the nature of their job duties and the reasons for the closure.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, modernize, and transform data ecosystem.
- Create standards for data quality, definitions, ownership and access with campus partners enhancing data literacy.
- Develop and manage assigned staff.
- Coordinate and distribute resources across multiple projects with varying deadlines.
- Analyze and resolve problems related to ETL, data warehousing, and SQL in collaboration with supervisors and stakeholders.
- Address challenges by proactively identifying solutions, managing deadlines and collaborating with supervisors and project stakeholders to drive successful outcomes.
- Partner with stakeholders to execute data and reporting projects and accelerate efforts to deliver and maintain secure, reliable services.
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:
- Coordinate the implementation and maintenance of IT solutions by developing partnerships with customers, vendors, and technical resources
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience: 5 years work-related experience, including at least 1 year supervisory experience.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with data management platforms and technologies, including Oracle, SQL, and enterprise data warehousing.
- Knowledge of database security principles, data governance, and industry best practices.
- Experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Edify.
- Experience applying data modeling, database architecture, design, and implementation principles.
- Knowledge of reporting methodologies, analytics, and industry best practices.
- Experience supervising, mentoring, and developing technical staff.
- Experience leading projects, managing priorities, and coordinating cross-functional initiatives.
- Experience building collaborative relationships and working effectively with diverse stakeholders across the institution.
- Experience communicating with end users throughout the project development lifecycle.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

WORK LOCATION:
This position provides vital support to campus customers, and the successful candidate ideally would be available to work and perform essential job functions on-site, understanding our location is at 7,220 feet above sea level, though remote work may be considered for the right individual.WORK AUTHORIZATION REQUIREMENTS:
