Your role and responsibilities

The Functional Consultant - SAP EWM is responsible for delivering high‑quality warehouse and logistics solutions within an S/4HANA environment, while ensuring alignment with upstream and downstream Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) Plant Maintenance (PM) processes. The role supports end‑to‑end supply‑chain, warehousing and maintenance operations by designing, configuring and optimizing Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) capabilities integrated with asset management, material staging, spares management and maintenance execution. The consultant works closely with logistics, warehousing, engineering, maintenance and ICT teams within complex, secure program environments.

• Lead design, configuration and implementation of SAP EWM processes within an S/4HANA environment

• Ensure seamless integration of EWM with SAP PM for maintenance work order staging, spare‑parts management, kitting and material availability checks

• Conduct workshops with logistics, warehousing, maintenance and supply‑chain stakeholders to gather requirements and define best‑practice processes

• Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications, configuration documentation and process designs

• Configure EWM components including inbound/outbound processing, storage and putaway, picking, packing, RF processes, physical inventory, wave management and warehouse order creation

• Support master data design relating to warehouse structures, bins, handling units, packaging specifications and maintenance‑related materials

• Lead functional testing, UAT support, defect management, and preparation of cutover and go‑live activities

• Support enhancements, interfaces (IDocs, BAPIs, APIs), RF development and Fiori applications in collaboration with technical teams

• Provide troubleshooting, operational support and continuous improvement of warehouse and maintenance‑related logistics processes

• Contribute to warehousing and maintenance governance, performance improvements and compliance requirements

• Provide mentoring and knowledge transfer to junior consultants and functional team members

Required technical and professional expertise

• Extensive configuration experience with SAP EWM in S/4HANA environments

• Strong understanding of warehouse operations including inbound, outbound, internal movements and storage processes

• Demonstrated experience integrating SAP EWM with SAP PM for spares management, maintenance staging and supply to work orders

• Experience with integration across MM, SD, PM, PP, QM and other SCM modules

• Hands‑on experience with RF frameworks, warehouse structure design and warehouse process mapping

• Experience developing functional specifications, conducting workshops and engaging business stakeholders

• Demonstrated ability to lead testing, cutover and go‑live readiness activities

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to optimise warehouse and maintenance‑related processes

• Experience working in large‑scale, secure or government program environments

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Australian Citizenship and mandatory AGSVA Baseline Clearance; NV1 preferred

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Exposure to EWM Labour Management, Slotting and Rearrangement, or MFS

• Experience with Defence or public‑sector logistics and maintenance processes

• Understanding of asset management and maintenance planning concepts

• SAP EWM or PM certification
